“Visited numerous times between 04/03/2016 and 03/13/2016. First beer was the Amber and most recent was the Lichtenhainer. Suggested ratebeer gnoff to visit even though I was at work when he went. This is one of my go to breweries primarily because of the happy hour special and them being less than a five minute drive away. Very open industrialized look with a pretty decent sized indoor stage and separate brewery/outdoor seating. The beers range across the board from decent to extraordinary. I do not particularly like the core beers but the specialty pilot batches can be very tasty. They offer 5/10/16oz pours depending on beer style with 32/64oz growler options on certain beers. The standard pricing is good but one of the only breweries I can think of in the area that actually offers happy hour pricing. I drop by about once a week after work because of this. Some of the recipes have changed slightly, for better or worse depending on preference, since they opened and more recently a slight gravitation towards more traditional German styles with pretty good success. There are constant events here ranging from open mic comedy to bands but I have yet to really go to any. The few I have noticed did have pretty good acoustics for just being an open room though. Kitchen should be done this summer I believe and an occasional bottle release here or there. One of the better breweries in the area, especially if you catch the happy hour pricing.“

“Visited numerous times: First beer was Bodega Porter on 07/11/2015 and most recent was Rudy Red Ale on 02/10/2018. Pretty cool little location in downtown Palm Harbor. I am assuming it was just a house before this because it literally just looks like a house. The beers here range from, I'm sorry to say, undrinkable to decent. Service and employees are super nice but not the most knowledgeable when it comes to beer but they are more known for the wine. Handful of local guest taps and last time I went had around 6-10 or so brewed on location. Standout beer is definitely the Saison aged/fermented (cant remember which) in one of their own wine barrels. The beer seems kind of like an afterthought to the wine in trying to cash in on the craft beer market. Come here for the locally renown wine slushies, but leave because of the beer.“

“Visited first time Monday January 30, 2017.
Nice big place where you can walk next to the brewing setup and fermentors in an adjacent room. Nice fast service. Tasted 4 beers that were from nice to good.“

“Loud restaurant, kind of a mix of a sports bar with TVs on the wall, but with a reggae musician in the corner and pool tables. Lots of beer on tap and in bottles, with lots of local/Florida selections. Kind of overwhelming food selection. All in all good, wish it was quieter though.“

“great beer selection, but the place is typical US19 look-being kinda ugly and bland.“

“Strip mall brewpub with a small bar and decent amount of tables. Draft list was a mix of house brews and some regional beers. Friendly service. Beers were hit or miss, mostly miss. Flights available. Food sounded like average pub fare, didn’t try any. Okay for a place tick and some beer ticks but I probably wouldn’t return or go out of my way to visit.“

“Any German brewpub that serves 12& imperial guezes in Leffe glassware has to be interesting, and this place is no exception. The creator of the reinheitsgebot must be spinning in his grave (and good riddance to him!). Stripmall location, so parking is easy. Service was quick and cheerful. Didn’t try the food. Very creative place, but the beers are maybe a bit extreme. But it’s definitely not boring!“

“A good sized bar and eatery in a strip mall. Service was pleasant and enthusiastic, but not that knowledgeable about beer. Beer came in very cheap and good size tasters. Beer was oddly mostly Belgian and was not good at all. We didn’t eat, and I doubt I would ever go back.“

“Brewpub. Applebees feel. Didn’t eat. Beers were well....12 percent wildberry lambic. Most were undrinkable. The plusses: Hefes were pretty good. Guest taps. Good service. Inexpensive. I went to Sea Dog instead.“

“Visited on January 21, 2014.
Nice though a bit smallish place located in a mall like area. Plenty of parking around. We did a flight of 4 beers each. Big tap selection, fairly decent bottled selection as well. Trivia night when we visited. Nice, fast service. No problem getting a tab with a credit card. Free WiFi available with a password from the wall. Nice place for beers and for ticking.“

“New visit, January 20, 2014.
Had a flight of 6 beers for 9.99. Nice helpful cute girl servicing. Didn’t eat. Some boozy beers I had. Nice place, happy I got back.
One more visit for a flight on the 21st too, not much more to add, though a nice place.

First visit:
Visited on January 31, 2011. Biked over there from a friend in Palm Harbor. Nice location, good service. Got to try all available beers using sampler plate. Stayed with friends for a few more guest tap beers after the sampling. I’m surprised not more people have been going over there to try beers. Didn’t stay for food this time around.“

“This is a must visit! Where else can you get a 22% home made Barley Wine that is always on tap? Or a 14% wild berry wild fermented lambic? this guys know his beers, and the food is fantastic! The only reason it’s not more famous is because you can’t get a growler, since it’s a restaurant and thus illegal.“

“Stopped by this place on the way back from visiting a relative. A little difficult to find if you don’t know where to find it. Its located on this mile long strip of other businesses and its not big enough to stick out. Good parking tho. Inside its a fairly small place but it is pretty upscale. They did have a rocken beer selection on tap and the menu was plainly posted. I did find a few beers I’ve never tasted before. Otherwise, they did have a few coolers with some common micros and imprts along with a few rare bombers.“

“The female bartender was funny and nice but did not know much about the growlers. The growlers are a major plus for this place. I love that they have them and the prices are decent. The ambiance is a bit like the Dunedin store and they have a member drink the rail type of card. A great place for beer lovers.“

“The staff at the PHOB are knowledgeable and fun! Of course, the beer selection is stellar since they have 50 drafts and are constantly rotating them. Every night there’s something going on, whether it’s live music, trivia, or a fundraiser, so it’s always a good time.“

“We came in late after the kitchen was closed. Great service and massive samples on the sample tray. These guys are big on Lambics and it seemed to be everythjng here had a sour tinge.“

“Stopped here on a recent visit to Tampa. I did not know about this place, but what a great discovery. This was a brewpub with a German-American theme. So I decided to order the homemade brats which were delicious.I also tried the blackened scallops which were equally as good. The beer was well above average. We did the sampler which was from one end of the spectrum, PlumWiesse, to the 44 Magnum a barleywine. There wasn’t one brew that I wouldn’t revisit. I will definately stop here again on our next visit“

“Stopped in here on 6/11/2011 while visiting Tampa. Its in a strip mall which was a bit unexpected I guess for me. Service was prompt and friendly. Not out of this world though. Beer sampler was an awesome value and the beer selection and styles were great. Very eclectic, which I liked. I really liked the beers much more than I expected. I ordered the scallop apetizer which was EXCELLENT. I had the weinersneizle (Sp?) which was okay. But the Spaetzel was out of this world. Overall, its definitely worth a stop and if I lived here I would definitely go back. Menu for those who dont know is a combo of German/Austrian/ and American pub food.“

“An american style brewpub decorated with loads of German breweriana. A good German/Pub menu is available, with good specials: 5$ sandwich, and half-plates for 7.95$. Flight of sampler is a great deal: 6 X 4 on for 10$, very generous portions, beers are bizarre to OK to good.“

“Pretty nice place to visit that seems to be a bit underrated, honestly!

Well-lit, cool little place with the brewing equipment in plain view.

Our bartender was prompt, very friendly, and she new enough about the beers to speak intelligently about them. She was also Hungarian, which was pretty cool.

The selection is actually pretty solid. 6-8 of their brews on tap, I gather (6 when we were there) and several guest taps, including lots of German stuff and some American micros. I suppose this depends on your definition of "taps." They have about 10 taps out front and they hand pump a bunch of kegs in the back as well.

I didn’t try the food as I was on my way to Peg’s, but it sounded good!

Pretty average pint prices, didn’t really check the food prices.

Overall, I’d say if you have the time to slip away and visit this place, definitely go for it. The high alcohol fruity lambics were pretty solid in my opinion, and the rest of the stuff wasn’t bad either!“

“I love Lagerhaus! It’s our version of Cheers! Everyone knows our name... our beers are poured before we order. The food is delicious and quality. They will make specials for you if you’re picky. I can’t believe the scores aren’t higher!“

“Visited here in late March 2010 on my way down to Ft Myers on a Saturday. got here at noon and were the only patrons for a half hour or so - felt kind of bad - but from reading the reviews it looks like they get good business. Had about eight of their own on tap - quite an eclectic selection there for a local brewpub- a lambic, dunkelweizen, and a sour among the offerings! Wide variety menu, had the wienerschnitzel - did not set my world on fire - son had the Austrian Mac and cheese - loved it. The two beers I had - a hefe and a dunkeweizen were above par; they also have several guest taps it appears. If I was local - this would be a regular stop.“

“Old Hoppers reopened under Lagerhaus. Beers are mighty fine for a brewpub, and Frans brews some delicious brews that are constantly being rotated However, I was very disappointed in the Lambic which tasted more like an old wine cooler. They also have a fairly large amount of guest taps. Staff is friendly, though they could use a little beer 101 class. Food is the regular pub grub with some of the dishes having a German influence. A good place though lacking any sense of German spirit and instead turns into a very Americanized place. Sad considering the fact that they seem to put an emphasis on the German ownership of the place. Place gets quite busy, and best to visit during non-peak hours.“

“This is a partial review. Has this place started brewing beer YET? The last time I was in there the answer was the same as the months and months prior, No. The food is OK and currently the tap list is uninspired compared to a place close by called the Oldsmar Tap House. Not worth a special trip for the food or beer. Stay tuned though. PLEASE NOTE: that map to the right is wrong. It is located across the street from Target adjacent to Publix on East Lake Road at East Lake Woodlands Plaza at Tampa Road and McMullen Booth Road.

OK I should have updated this rating like 2 yrs ago. Franz, the owner/brewer is a great guy and has been cranking out mostly German style beers here in the area for years and years. He tries some really cool stuff too. The food is pretty good and the staff has always been great.“

“One of the best brewpubs in the bay area. The food is great, and absolutely authentic, the beer is great (including some wonderful unique brews), and the service is top-notch. I’ve been several times, and have never been disappointed.“

“Nice Friendly environment. Great beer selection. 15 on tap, 50 + more in bottles. Brewery not online yet, but I was assured it would be VERY soon, followed by an outside BierGarten. It was refreshing to see the correct glasses for each beer and good prices for the size of the glasses 14,22,33 oz glasses . Pizza best in the area, very authentic. Great WienerSchnitzel. Did I mention great Beer and Hi-Def Big screens.“

“Owned by Franz, former head brewer at Hoppers. Unfortunately no brewing is going on here yet. The only beer he had of his own was his Lambic. The guest tabs were uninspiring, Hofbrau, Chimay, Lost Coast, etc. The usual suspects. Food was very good, bratwurst and kraut very well done. Service was friendly and attentive. Will need to re-rate once the brewery is up and running.“
