300 yen table charge in a very smokey environment but staff were accommodating. 1100 yen for a set of 3 150ml tasters. 2 I tried to order were out with no replacements yet which was kind of a bummer. A nice looking place in a sort of half basement but with lots of light and a welcoming though smokey atmosphere. One of the beers I ordered tapped out as they poured it so I got that tiny pour on the house nice! I paid 3800 yen for a pizza, curry, tasting set & ginger ale isn’t that bad. The food was really good to boot. You know it is a good place when your wife is the on who says next time we’re here...! After eating we told the staff we were heading upstairs to 2nd Vine, they ran out to secure seats for us and I think this way we also avoided paying a table charge again there. It was also ridiculously smokey, a smaller place with 6 taps but plenty of bottles but no western beer on tap at either place when I went(though some bottles were available). High ceilings, lots of wood, cool decor make it a cool little spot. Being right above Eni bru makes it an easy 1 - 2 punch. They require a drink order from each customer, no sharing tasting sets. They did have 500 yen tasters(S) on top of the tasting sets. Friendly staff, nice decor, well maintaned beers & a varied selection make these bars worth the trip down to Nakamozu. I really liked it but it would be much nicer if one of the two bars was made non-smoking. As it stands both places got insanely smokey if just one person was smoking which was the biggest negative. ---went by again today Oct 2014 and these guys always seem to have an interesting tap list with all kinds of weird one off beers I never see elsewhere though today they had zero imports but lots of cool stuff bumping up their selection score.

The food and service are really outstanding. I love the informal atmosphere and find it quite easy to talk to others at the bar. They also have some fairly good musicians playing occasion. The main draw back is that is somewhat far from Osaka, though it is just a single subway ride on the Midosuji line to the last station, Nakamozu. It’s also a bit pricey, though I think it’s worth it. Good place for a splurge rather than a cheap night out. Also, like Popeye in Tokyo, they take meticulous care of their beers, though some of them are served a bit colder than I like. Still, this is arguably the best place in Osaka.

A nice bar in the south of Osaka (actually in Sakai city). A little hard to get to, but definitely worth a visit. The best variety of draughts in Kansai, with a good rotation of micros from all over Japan and usually 1-2 American micros. Prices are a tad high for the area, but the beer is great and in top condition. Good, knowledgeable staff. Basic English spoken. Now the bar right above them also serves craft beer, which makes it even more of a must.
