50 reviews for Freakin’ Frog
| presario (106), Calgary, Alberta | | July 13, 2005 The outside looks like a pawn shop. The inside looks like a NY mob hideout/warehouse. Tried to go July 4 but it was closed. Went back when it was open and had to get a picture in front. The owner offered to take the picture, asked how we had heard about the Frog and since he was leaving asked the bartender/waitress (Trish) to take care of us and give us a tour of the cooler. It was happy hour. The top two rows of the beer fridge were 2 for 1. The 10 taps were on sale too. Of the 500 beers on the beer list only 100 are really for sale. The cooler would be welcome in my basement. And they have Utopias for $20/ounce. | | HumuloneRed (18), Portland, Oregon | | June 1, 2005 [ Updated June 12, 2005 ] Sorry I think this place is stupid! Yes they have a big beer list. Most of which they didn’t have or if they did they wanted way to much for it. Just kind of a dump IMO. | barenada (4), Georgetown, Indiana does not count - explanation | | May 16, 2005 If I lived in Las Vegas, this would be my bar. Of the dozen beers on tap today, three of them were IPAs and one was Miller Lite, but the bottled beer list is the only one I’ve seen that compares to the one at Rich O’s. My burger and fries were fantastic. The bartender seemed to understand my need to have my glass thawed out ahead of time. | | Schultsc (10), San Diego, California | | May 3, 2005 One of my favorite places to drink in LV. Staff is very knowledgeable and appreciates your enthusiasm. Really great beers on tap and an evolving bottle selection with many rarities. Ask for Zach for a wonderful flight of beers. Great neighborhood place that really welcomes the beer enthusiast. | | Braudog (496), Dayton, Ohio | | November 10, 2004 Shitty hole in the wall in a strip mall with shitty food out of the freezer. Day I went, the only other two customers were two drunk Mexican guys. But a stellar beer list. | | argo0 (181), Washington DC | | November 1, 2004 They’ve got a really good selection, with nice taps in addition to good bottles. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in town. Only beef I had was with the use of frozen glasses as the default -- they should know better. | | BückDich (215), McCall, Idaho | | October 11, 2004 As said before, this is the best beer bar to go to in all of Las Vegas. Outside you see a strip mall in a very populous part off the strip with a paint job that is very &quo;tiajuanaesque&quo;. Inside there’s beer poster, neon signs, juke box, small bar, ample seating. Smoking allowed and NO gambling. No liquor. Taps are well selected and someone rare, bottle list was large (350 last I was told). Adam was a great host, reminded me of a Baldwin, I can’t figure out which one. Very low key place. The food was average fried pub grub. | | OldGrowth (108), North Carolina | | October 9, 2004 [ Updated August 12, 2005 ] Best place for beer in Las Vegas, no doubt. Right near UNLV campus, so you had college kids and beer geeks mingling. Had Stone 8th on tap when I was there, also Rogue St red, Anchor foghorn, Chimay white, McEwans ipa, Beamish stout. Basic pub grub, the wife and I had deep fried mac and cheese and fries, both good. Adam the owner hung out and talked beer and sports. Jeff and Jennifer were also cool. Great bottle selection. Expansion has come along well. No gambling so it felt more pub like to me. Went 4 times during my visit to Vegas. It would be my regular bar if I lived there. Hope to see more Ratebeerians going there. I adjusted after looking at my stats. | Sancho (6), Da Bronx, New York does not count - explanation | | August 16, 2004 this place was awesome, the food was solid,Brats burgers, and wings all washed down, with one of many beers,Stone, rouge, lost coast,as well as mad belgins 215 was the count wen i went.. Adam was really cool as we talked baseball and beer.told me the place was expanding soon someone check it out. | Brewso (4), Mt Kisco, New York does not count - explanation | | April 29, 2004 Adam will do all that he can to make sure that you are in beevana. Taps included lost coast indica ipa, SN Celebration, Chimay Tripel, Old Foghorn and others. The cooler in the back is a thing of beauty: two walls filled with all kinds of goodies including hard to find stuff. The cheese fries and nachos hit the spot as we enjoyed the lost coast ipa and a stone ruination. Adam has a large collection of DVD movies that he will project onto the wall. He showed &quo; The Rock&quo; as we talked with him about beer, life and Vegas. A very welcome alternative to the &quo;how to make money off you&quo; attitude of the strip. It was very much like hanging out with a good friend who has a great beer selection. He had no problem with our cigars and we had no problem with his hospitality. The taps were very well kept and the beer fresh. An absolute must if you are a Ratebeerer in Veags.
Thanks Adam! |
