Stopped in while in DC for a conference. Very thankful I was able to get to stop by here - second floor bar with a huge draft list and super solid bottle selection. Enjoyed a cantillon and 3F if i remember correctly - in addition to many samples of solid draft selections - both limited and local offerings. Nice staff from what I encountered, would definitely go back next time im in DC. I always recommend this place to friends in the area. Solid.

Heaven. It’s a lot too noisy and often a little too dark. It lacks wifi (which is pretty weird given that half the place is on RateBeer half the time). But otherwise it’s pretty much perfect. Best beer list I’ve ever seen in the US. Super-knowledgeable staff. Good (but not great and also pricey) bar food. Super mix of styles. Supports the local breweries. The best.
Update, 11/25/2013: ChurchKey has been open a while now and it’s starting to show its age. The bathrooms need a substantial remodel and much of the seating, etc. is quite worn. (And did I mention the volume in CKDC is painful?) Now that Bluejacket is open, maybe these things will get done....

Excellent beer selection, nice space. Huge bar with efficient, somewhat impersonal service. Typical DC happy hour crowd, with a smattering of folks that actually know and care about what they’re drinking.

Located in a cozy area of the American capital, full of pubs and restaurants, the Churchkey offers an impressive selection of local (mostly Virginian, but also a few DCj taps and a wealth of bottles. The staff are very friendly and ready to assist the cantankerous Ratebeerian with tjeir expert knowledge. I haven’t tasted the food but it looks good. A little pricey but not more than ina. decent bar in NYC. Definitely a place to visit again!

Love this place. Massive long bar located upstairs from their restaurant. Superb tap selection and an excellent selection of bottles. Service is very friendly and helpful, also knowledgeable about the beers. Even the manager came out for a chat knowing that we were Ratebeer geeks. Would certainly return in a heartbeat given the chance.

Walking in go right upstairs. Kinda a thin room with the bar on one side and seating all around. Nice tap list with about half craft and half import on the menu. If your not from the area you’ll definatly find something you have not had before. Staff is friendly and ready to get you another one quickly. Food menu is minimal but the brat burger is a horrible for you but wonderful treat. The only problem I have with this place is that it is way too dark in here. The guy checking id’s had to use a flashlight and I had to take the menu over by the window to read it and it was only 4:30.
