84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 mcberko (134) Vancouver, British Columbia | May 13, 2013 This being the original Moeder Lambic, it’s not as epic as the Fontainas location, but they have some good stuff as well. On my visit, they didn’t even have a printed bottle list, so they invited me to the back to scour their selection, which is pretty solid but not as extensive as the other location. Taplist is also quite minimal compared to the other place, but they do have a few Cantillons on tap. Prices seem slightly better than the Fontainas location. Worth a visit, but I doubt you’ll find much here that you can’t find at the other place. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 yiannnos (20) , Cyprus | May 7, 2013 Nice place with a good belgian beer selection. Less taps than the other moeder lambik | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 andregoncalves (45) Lisbon, Portugal | April 30, 2013 Great place in Brussels to have micro beers. period. It’s funny that even though it’s not central, it almost always packed. Haven’t tried the food, but it looked tasty! | 92 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 sir__v (25) Lille, France | April 1, 2013 One of the nicer place to have a beer in Europe. Moeder Lambic Saint-Gilles is installed in a nice and calm neighborhood on a hill on Brussels. Ouside the place looks like as a small french bistro. Inside it’s really amazing the style of the tables and the benchs is incredible, in front of the windows you have a nice collection of typical brussels comics to spend time with your beer or you can ask for cards or games at the bar. About the beer selection, really amazing you have belgium and european beers on tap and all of them are from small breweries and cheap for the kind of beer. Bar keepers are nice and amazing to give you advice about the choice. About food you can take snack like cheese or sausage. This place is for really beer geek and beer lovers. I really recommend it! | 86 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 Ibrew2or3 (300) Tempe, Arizona | March 19, 2013 Visited here with sebletitje. Cool, the original Moeder that has a much smaller space and smaller tap list. But where it comes up short there it shines in character and a welcoming neighborhood pub feel. The furniture is well worn and silky smooth and is just large tree trunks that have been sliced about maybe three times to make the table tops. The chairs/benches are made in the same way. Pretty neat. I like how they offer up newer stuff and brews from up and coming brewers to keep things interesting and maintaining a local vibe. This isn’t a place worth skipping a trip to Cantillon to see but it is worth seeking out sooner or later. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 IgorWilson (3) Brussels, Belgium | March 5, 2013 Best beer bar in Brussels. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 greenclansman (50) Nicosia, Cyprus | March 2, 2013 Very very nice place. Much smaller than the one in the center. More cozy, but for sure has less tap options. Its more focused on the Belgian micro scene. Service was nice, even though only one of the two was well aware of their stock. Nice rock music and a very friendly atmosphere. For sure a must for all beer geeks. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 zinneke (7) Brussels, Belgium | March 2, 2013 Nice people, closeby, ideal to escape from industrial beers once in a while | 88 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 adamjackson (112) Lyme, New Hampshire | February 21, 2013 I prefer the other location more. Great bottle list, always changing draft list. Pricey but there is so much here to try from cheap to expensive that you can really decide what you want to spend.
Biggest complaint is a lot of beers are advertised as available and not when you ask for them |
