| crizay (108), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio | | August 8, 2005 [ Updated April 13, 2006 ] So I’m walking through the mall and I see a Paulaner sign and go what the? then see the sign saying 12 beers on draught and it boggled my mind. Theres actually a german bar in the middle of a mall, crazy idea. It’s too pricey and will get a beer or two every now and then since it’s my local mall, and we’re there a lot getting mice for our lizard. | | nick76 (76), Tampa, Florida | | June 29, 2005 [ Updated April 19, 2009 ] If your into German food and European beers you have to try it since it’s the only place like it in the area. Also, it is the meeting place for Tampa Bay Beers the local home brew club. They have a new address and the new place is better than the old one. It still has the same Bavarian charm but with more space and a dedicated beer garden. The food is fairly authentic German with a very good selection on draft as well as in bottles. | | NYHarvey (124), New York, New York | | September 25, 2004 [ Updated August 29, 2006 ] About 10-16 beers on draft. Mostly German, but did have Chimay White last time I was there. The German draft selection is very nice with several styles represented at once. Had a Maibock, Schwarz, Bock some Lagers, Pils and Wheat beers when I was there.
Staff is VERY friendly. Especially Meagan. Food is outstanding. The Deli is decent, but I suggest the authentic German fare...try the cheese spatzle...awesome.
They also have a large package selection that runs the gambit of beers availible in Florida and sell glassware, german goods and gifts.
I still do my X-mas shopping at University Mall JUST because I can stop in here to take a break.
One of my all time favorite places in Tampa to have a beer.
Had St. Bernardus Abt 12 AND Val-Dieu on tap the other day. That just rocks. |
