10 reviews for Gordon Biersch, New Orleans
| rcr484 (11), | | December 15, 2009 This is your basic, homogenized commercial brewpub, aimed at tourists and gamblers from the casino across the street. Beer is meh and food follows in suit. I will say the brew is fresh however, with onsite brewing. | | jfosu (11), | | December 14, 2009 This is a chain brewpub that brews their own beer more as a gimmick to attract customers than to actually create a good drink. The beers they make are not inspired and rather dull. The food is alright, the location is perfect for convention center/casino attendees, and it’s the best of the admittedly poor options downtown, but if you have time I’d suggest taking a trolley to the Avenue pub or somewhere along that lines. | | kiefdog (116), Tampa, Florida | | March 1, 2009 Generally consistent with the rest of the Gorden Biersch brewpubs I have been to. Large sports bar/brew pub atmosphere with a reasonable selection of beer and solid food lineup. The Hefeweizen we had was probably the best of the 4 sampled. Food was good and reasonably priced and definitely worth a visit when in the area. | | dcraft (11), farnham, | | December 30, 2008 Not my kind of place. Nothing too special on the craft beer, no big flavors. Food okay. looks like lots of other peole liked it though, it was very busy. | | Nate (201), Indiana, Pennsylvania | | April 6, 2008 Sort of a standard chain brewpub. Convenient to downtown, of course, and say many conventioneers during the lunch break. Beers were fine, just not much character - it’s saying something for me when I think the Export was their best offering. If you’re near the convention center, it’s a decent place to grab lunch. Nice food offerings, but nothing jumped out at me. | aru (3), Smørum, Denmark does not count - explanation | | March 20, 2008 A quite ordinary restaurant which happen to brew their own beers . The two beers I had was not that special, and it dosn’t seems like they have any other beers on the drink list. The food was though ok. | | BuckeyeBoy (58), Boise, Idaho | | January 12, 2008 In town for the 2008 BCS Championship Game. Very Sad the Buckeyes didn’t win. This place was nice just like the other locations of Gordon Biersch I have been in. They did have one beer i had not sampled. No food this time just a fast brew and out the door. | | DuffMan (102), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta | | November 30, 2007 We wandered for a while, searching for a place to watch the Monday night football game and came across this by chance really. we new it was here, but we didn’t know how awesome a set-up they have for football! They have 3 42in plasmas set up outside with the sound on PERFECT! Great food, great beer, great place to watch the game. | | Shag (35), Chattanooga, Tennessee | | September 22, 2007 This was the closest place to eat next to my hotel. I wasnt jumping out of my seat to go there because I knew it was a chain but I’m glad I did. The atmosphere is nice with a real spacious bar area. The beers were a little better than expected. They seem to focus on German styles over anything. The food was good also. I liked thier beers a little better than Crescent City. Overall worth a stop by if you are in the Quarter. | | SudsMcDuff (38), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas | | December 30, 2006 a simple place with simple yet enjoyable beers...the bisque is spicy and good and the pizza ain’t bad either...the brew master is a nice guy and the bartender was cool as they come...lagers live here! |
