Went in to get a growler for Willibrew since they ran out. Great selection and decent prices. Not bad.

This store is very helpful for finding anything you need to brew your own stuff. However, I went in to purchase some B Clear and he immediately asked me what it was being used for. Since I was buying it for someone else, I did not know. He kept probing to try to see if I was buying the right stuff (keep in mind I am a female). Then when I went to pay, I got lectured on how I should always carry cash on me. When he saw my card, he said "You cant use THAT. You havent bought enough of anything". The lecturing continued and luckilya friend spotted me the cash needed. I have worked in retail before and know that it is forbidden to establish a minimum on visa or mastercard uses. I left the store feeling like crap because I did not carry cash on me. I would go to this place again but only if I absolutely had to and will never go in there alone.

The owner of this store is very knowledgeable and knows a lot about beer (Like Mark and Tess at Maltose). The store itself is nothing to look at, but stocks everything youíd need for your homebrewing needs. Definitely worth the visit if youíre a homebrewer and in the area.

A little hole in the wall, as homebrew shops tend to be. Paul (the owner) knows a lot about brewing and can be a valuable resource. Otherwise, the store has just about anything you might need to brew, with the exception of some of the newer high alpha hop varieties, but this is true of most shops. Definitely a place that every homebrewer in northeast CT should visit frequently.

A treasure in CTís beer scene. Located on a side one way street in Willi, itís not the easiest place to find if you donít know the area. The shop is cluttered with all kinds of beer paraphanelia, equipment and ingredients, and the walls are quite literally wallpapered with homebrewing awards that Paul has acquired over the years. There is also a back room, where all the grain is (and a newly installed hand pump... seriously... mmm...), as well as other equipment and such that didnít fit in the front.
Iíve become a regular, and the service has always been exceptional. Paul is a walking talking encyclopedia of beer brewing, wine making, cider making, and mead making. Very personable, itís easy to waste away an hour or 5 in this place just chatting it up with Paul and other regulars.
Quality and selection are very good, and if he doesnít have what you need he can put in a special order.
Even if youíre not a brewer, this place may interest you as it has lots of paraphenalia from shirts to books to glassware etc etc. Oh, and cheese making kits.
Also he organizes lots of beer trips, including a tour of New England breweries and pubs, and a very reasonably priced (cheap) trip to Belgium and itís breweries.
