If I built a beer pub, this is what I'd build.

Great beer bar in Grand Rapids right in downtown. Good burgers and crack fries. Nice selection of beers on tap including a number of great Michigan breweries. Bottle selection is outstanding with a significant focus on Belgians.

The beer list when I was there was incredible, especially for michigan. had stuff from brooklyn (good stuff) that was otherwise impossible to find at all in the midwest, plus a series of super rare specialty releases. The atmosphere puts it over the top though, such an awesome scene.

The bar is BEAUTIFUL. The decor is off the charts. The beer selection is great. The patrons and staff ruin it. Lots of douchebags. On both sides of the bar. Our party has had a lot of experience on both sides of the bar. We asked for a taste of 2 beers and the girl behind the bar told is ’they are basically the same’. We still asked for the tastes anyway, and they were very very different. This was after waiting more than 10 minutes for one of the 5 bartenders behind the bar to even acknowledge our presence. It was a moderately busy Friday evening. The bartenders had their backs to the customers and were gathered around a phone. When we finished our first round we waited another 10 minutes with empty glasses before the bartenders turned around. The guy looked super annoyed that we asked for a beer. I have 2 words for this place. Over it. If I were the owner, I would ruffle some serious feathers. This staff sucks.

Spectacular selection on tap...not to mention an insane amount of bottles to choose from. Gorgeous interior, and despite the busyness, service was prompt and professional. TRY THEIR ’CRACK FRIES’!

When I think of a brewpub, this is what I want it to be. They have a friendly knowledgeable staff. They have a large variety of beers on draft and they brew some of their own. They have amazing food. If you can get to HopCat then I would highly recommend that you do.

A must stop in western MI, largely because of their impressive tap and bottle list in addition to their own offerings.

Yeah, finally! Cozy place, shockingly dead when I was there... draft list was sick, 4 Hop cat beers, 3 kuhnhenn including imperial creme brule, 4d, fluffer, tons of other selections, offered half pours. great price and value... Food was terrible but I’d be back to tick again and again.

The best things about Founders is this place is just down the road! Epic Michigan list with great prices ($1 shot samples for tickers). Huge list with a couple beers brewed at the pub as well. The service is friendly - one guy even offered to give me a tour the next morning but I had to run off early for Kalamazoo. Crack fries were awesome. Good music as well, from what I remember.

One heck of a place, great service, awesome tap list, and a flat blast of a time. Definitely want to come back to Grand Rapids just for this place!
