Commercial Description:
Odell Woodcut No. 2 , an oak aged golden ale, was brewed over six months ago on the brewery’s pilot brewing system. The golden ale has been aging in virgin oak barrels and will bottle condition in cork finish, 750 ml bottles. Crafted with fine specialty malts and hops, Woodcut No. 2 is a golden copper color. The rich toffee-like malt character is balanced by soft tannins. Freshly cut wood and vanilla bean aromas compliment the beer’s smooth finish.

Absolutely spectacular beer. Super rich vanilla aroma and flavor, an almost buttery (texture, not diacetyl) mouthfeel. The beer equivalent of a grand cru white burgundy.

Deep tawny-golden color with a frothy off-white head. Lots of legs clinging to side of snifter as I stirred it. Molasses, oak, rich malt, and a hint of vanilla bean in the nose. Very complex and new flavors presented themselves as it warmed. Thanks to Carl for sharing. Very nice!

Hazy orange color with a lasting beige head. Very nice " fresh cut " hardwood lumber aroma with vanilla, citrusy orange cream. Soft smooth medium body. Vanilla flavor with floral honey, dry wood, toffee, mild pils malts. Nice spicy alcohol twang to finish. Sweet but never cloying or sticky. great drink

Courtesy of sebletitje. Pours deep hazy copper with amber hues and thin tan head. The aroma has firm notes of sweet apricots, cherries, sweet yet grainy hops and some spicy hops to go along with plenty of boozy heat at the end of the draw. 1 and 2 have a very similar aroma. The taste is sweet with caramel goodness mixing with ripe cherry, ripe plum and prune like dark fruitiness. Yum. It stays sweet and dark and fruity right into the finish. Pretty darn smooth with plenty of smooth dark fruity flavors.

Fresh, sweet with a barley strength. Gold/copper color. Tastes of honey and is barleywine-like. Nice alcohol finish. Notes: GABF ’09
