Pours clouded amber with a foamy white head. Nose is fruity and largely floral like a flower bed in early spring. Light yeasty notes and and bread with some mustiness abound. Very odd aroma to me. Sort of a Belgian Strong blended with a saison or lighter gueuze. Taste is very fruity and yeasty. Dry throughout but has some light cobwebby notes and dank basement. More flowery notes and light hop bitterness. Seemingly runs the gamut on flavors. Light spiciness lingers throughout. Light barnyardy notes come through at times as well. Body is lighter and has plently of foamy carbonation to it. The dryness leaks through around the edges and at the end. Finish is light spice, yeast, cobwebs, mild mustiness, damp basement and pollinating flowers. Wow, what a nice surprise!

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 16, 2010 Bottle from Bottleworks. Pours a nice honey amber, with a thick, off-white head. Really delicious aroma. Apple cider, honey, champagne, and Belgian yeast cover a moderate hop bill. The flavor isn’t as sweet as the aroma lets on - it’s a little more bready and dry, with mild citrus rind and the yeast showing through. Crisp, with a flavor that really lingers - this is really tasty stuff! Pinball (3333), Allerød, Denmark

yeasty sweet yellow fruity aroma, well balanced and blended mild aroma.
flavor is yeasty, dough, malty sweetness, balanced, hoppy, not the usual yellow fruity flavor, but a more dry flavor, dough and flour is prominent. A bit strange, but good anyways. armando629 (1144), Budapest, Hungary

Pored hazy gold with a medium white, creamy head that diminishes slowly to a delicious lacing one. Sourish and floral aroma with resinous hop, citrusses and grapefruit because of it, some caramel, malt. Medium body with a malty-honey flavor, but after a while the hop explodes on the palate and it is dominates the flavor. Fine, powerful hop with resin, citrusses and grapefruit. Like an IPA... Dry bitter aftertaste. Nice one from the side of the hoppy beers... Nekronos (2347), Xalapa, Mexico

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 18, 2010 Bottle. Vibrant orangey brown beer with a strong white head. The aroma is deeply bitter and spiced, and the flavour is very bitter and quite heavily spiced. Overall a fairly average Belgian beer, quite strong tasting but not very vibrant. arrogantb (855), Denver, Colorado, USA

Cloudy orange yellow with good head and lacing. The smell was kind of like a tripel or belgian pale, a little spice. The flavor was smooth but a little yeasty and very easy to drink. I’m not sure I’d buy this on the reg but De Ranke beers are interesting enough that I’d liek to try them all.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 7, 2010 Bottle. Pour is hazy golden with a large white head. Aroma is dry hop, light hay, malt, and a touch of bread. Flavor is also pretty dry with a light floral hop character, light malt, some champagne-like notes, and a touch of yeast in the finish. Solid but not overwhelming.
