COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle Conditioned.
Launched on December 26th 1989 @ 9% abv. Abv reduced from 9% to 8.5% in 2003.
The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

AROMA of hops, bitter hops and aroma, yeast also, with really interesting fruity notes, i would say banana. APPEARANCE is a sweet clear golden yellow but the foam didn’t stayed long.TASTE has some acid and fruity hops together with fresh bitterness. reeaaaaly sweet. (and also sweet) PALATE : perfect cargo (although the inexistend head) and medium sweet finsh of hops with a hint of bitterness. OVERALL I remember I didn’t liked that kind of beer back in the days (like 18^^) but now I love it. Nice bitter/hoppy beer with delicate notes of yeasts and sweetness from the malts. Balance is the way. POURED from a 33cl from fridge in teku glass.

Very special beer, it is supposed to be strong but is very friendly beer. Fruity, some citrus in aroma and flavor, has a little bit of sourness, and the hops are well balanced. Some spiciness too, but subtle.

Malt and yeast. What a beer should be but nothing more in terms of palate or complexity. Long finish with hops dominating saves the day.

Bottle. Pours with a light yellow colour, medium frothy white head. Aroma is medium malty with notes of caramel and fruit, light hoppy and light yeasty. Additional notes of honey. Taste is medium sweet, light bitter, light salty, light to medium sour. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation.

Bottle to glass. Bright gold, fine snowy head, lots of funky stuff floating around in the glass. Yeasty nose, white grapes and soft light caramel. Light and spicy. High carbonation. Boozy, but not overly so. A class act, even for someone like me, not really into Belgians.

Poured a slightly hazy straw color with a small, thin white head that was gone quickly. Aroma is fruity, maybe lemon and apple, with some earthy yeast. Medium body with a light dryness to the finish. Flavor of apple with an earthy yeast note. Maybe some pear and spice as well.

Not as good as the Nocturnum, but a good, strong Belgian nonetheless. Very yeasty but in a good way.
