The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

DELIRIUUUM ! This is solid stuff that needs love from each beer lover around. Well known beer with a pronounced aftertaste that tends to live up its name and reputation. Alcohol level is pretty decent and the taste is quite charged, it is a very cool drink for any occasion. My first try years ago was not especially convincing, but it grew up on me each time after that. A classic. APPROVED BY TAVERNY’S BLACK METAL CREW!

Love this beer. Very lively carbonation with a bitter floral flavor and bitter aftertaste. I bought this at a market in Brussels. Awesome Belgian beer. Definitely a must buy.

Purchased from The Beer Shop, Brugge Great tasting beer for a warm afternoon. Nice floral aroma, with a clear golden body and a medium amount of carbonation.

I enjoy every style of beer that I’ve tried including beers that I feel fall in to this category. However when tasting this the predominate flavor that I get is bubblegum and tin. Combined with the the excessive carbonation this is only 1 of 2 beers that I’ve truly hated. It’s a true disappointment because it looks and smells quite good.

Draught @ Five Mile Stone, Finally had the opportunity to rate this, after tasting and loving it 10 years ago at the Delirium Cafe, Brussels. Clear golden color with nice foamy white head, faint vanilla aroma., medium carbonation, smooth body, medium malty finish. Great example of what you can do with the Belgian yeast!

Olhăo 21/7 2016. 33 cl bottle from Continente Modelo Supermarket. Funky ceramic looking bottle. Blue label with pink elephants, cruising green crocodiles and dragons balancing on yellow balls. Pours slightly hazy yellow with white head. Settles as creamy Crown of foam - several centimeters thick. Aroma of Belgian yeast, rubber tires, banana and a hint of lemon. Medium carbonation and thick creamy palate. Taste is medium sweet followed by light bitterness. A fine Belgian. Been a little bit puzzeled by the name of the beer. It actually manages to hide the ABV pretty well and is not particulary boozy. And a ABV on 8,5 is not so Extreme that it merits the title "Delerium Tremens". But I could imagine that this could be a rough cure of a serious hangover.

330 mL bottle shared with ebone1988. The pour is a brighter golden color with a thick cap of white head and a thick decent lace as it falls. The aroma is banana and clove. There is a light spice and a hefty maltiness to it. It’s pretty bland and basic for a Belgian... Ugh. The flavor is interesting. Spicy clove and banana with a metallic maltiness. The yeast is reserved but this is just not that good. The mouth feel is thin with a very bubbly carbonation and a lingeringly sweet maltiness mixed with spicy clove. This one is really interesting, and I can’t say that I am a fan of it.

Bottle shared with koleminer20, for the book. Aroma is tropical fruit, banana, very fruity, booze. Appearance is golden amber, white head, clear. Taste is banana, tropical fruit, cloves, spices, earthy hops, harsh. Mouthfeel is medium body, light crisp carbonation, overly carbed, dry banana and spice aftertaste. Overall, I’ve had better but it’s ok.
