Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured clear pale color with an average white frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate hop and malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium balanced flavor with a medium smooth balanced finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable beer.

Appearance: Pours a clearish, dully hued golden body with a tall, generous, white head. Smell: Slightly sweetish nose of pilsener and light pale maltiness with a suggestion of grain-laden bread. Though let us not forget the Noble hops smelling of dried flowers and spice. Taste: Pils and light pale malts with some crisp grainy slants to it and a middling amount of general sweetness. Spicy, floral, lightly earthy hops with a medium amount of imparted bitterness. Finishes crisp and dry with a bit of that hop spice riding out beyond the finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation. Drinkability: Just a good, solid pilsner to close out the hot summertime with!

Father’s Day 2009

6/21/2009: Midnight Sun Brew Crew 2009 Fahrwasser (Fairway Pilsner) pours a dirty golden color with a good level of carbonation supporting the fluffy white head. This beer has a fruity pear aroma. The flavor rivals any traditional Pils. It stats lightly malty and and sweet with a yeasty/slightly doughy middle that is followed a crisp finish that is grassy (notes of hay) and delicately spicy (white pepper?). This beer is fairly light (medium-light body) with a satisfying amount of bubbles and is quite refreshing. It is definitely a great beer for a hot Summer day!

22 fl. oz. bottle (5.2% ABV - 28 IBUs) purchased at the Midnight Sun Brewing Company in Anchorage, Alaska and shared with my father. Rating #4 for this beer. Score: 7/4/7/3/15 = 3.6

10/25/2009: Midnight Sun Fahrwasser Fairway Pilsner... Aroma: Toasted grain; bland overall. Appearance: Hazy, dull pale yellow; thin off-white head; nice lacing. Flavor: Toasted grain; a touch of butter; mild to moderate bitterness that stick; dry finish. Palate: Fairly light-bodied. Overall: Much better when fresher; not holding up well at all and it has only been a couple of months since I last had it...

Clear golden color with a frithy white head. Nice yeasty lager, pils malt aroma with peppercorn. Light frothy mouthfeel. Lighty sweet, yeasty grainy pils malt flavor with a crisp, clean finish. Really hits the spot after a blazing hot 59* Anchorage June afternoon !

Yellow gold color with some haze. This was a real gusher out of the bottle, and in the glass had a head like beaten egg whites. Sticky lace. Light nose with some citrus and yeast. Clean pilsner with lemon pith bitterness, home made bread and a touch of grass in the finish.
