11.13.05 Bomber bottle. Pale copper color below lofty, off-white head of fine foam. Steady, visible carbonation. Aroma is straight pumpkin pie with lots of spice -- mostly clove, also nutmeg and cinnamon -- some biscuity yeast, and sugary graham cracker. Flavor is at first mildly spicy and soft with definite notes of pumpkin pie filling, the store bought stuff. About midway through it starts coming apart. A peppery, lagery yeast note comes in and flees as a watery body and sweetness takes over. Finishes with a lingering spice and little else. Overall, drinkable but disappointing, it seems to lack direction...that must be hard to do with a beer that states its direction in the name, pumpkin ale.

Bottle. Golden in color with a wisp of a white head. Pumpkin spicey aroma. Flavor is spicey, nutmeg, and clove. Thin. Not great. No balance.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy orange with a massive, foamy, off-white head. Tons of carbonation initially which settles down after a few mintues. Pleasant aroma of pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg. There is less pumpkin and spice in the flavor than in the nose. Very thin, watery mouthfeel. This is an average brew that lacks personality.

Bottled: clear amber body with a nice head. Aroma is spices galore and pumpkins. Caramel as well. Flavor is the same. Balanced well.

Draft sampled. Pours a hazy orange with a off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts, nutmeg, and notes of cinnamon. Flavor is thin bodied and mild with pumpkin, caramel malts, nutmeg, and some spices.

Large bright white head of fine bubbles. Nice and creamy on top. Decent carbonation. Spicy aroma with gingerbread, cinnamon, nutmeg and a soft something aroma ???. Color is a light orange. Flavor is pretty thin with more spices. Much more subdued that the aroma though. Pretty weak and watery. Needs some more malts for body. Clean dry finish with a little lingering spice. Not a very good pumpkin ale.
