Nice beige head on clear amber-brown beer. Sweet malt and nutty aroma. Flavor is nutty, caramel, malt, and hops. A little more hoppy on the end than the typical brown ale. Reminds me of some of Brooklyn’s beers. Pretty good stuff and I don’t usually go for brown ales.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 16, 2010 Slightly hazy brown with no head or lace, but this could be the glass quailty of the restaurant. Tastes sweet, little nutty and goes down smooth with that signature SweetWater sweetness. Not sure what that sweetness is, but it is present in lots of their beers. And I wonder what the spiral thing is on the label? Goodgrief (1184), Middletown, Delaware, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 11, 2010 Exactly what you would think it would be. Caramel hops, a touch of nuttiness and some roasty notes. A little bit of sweetness and some very mild hopping. DrinkEmUpJones (46), Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 10, 2010 Pours Orange-Brown with thick off-white head. Very light aromas of bread dough and caramel. Roasted malts on creamy palate. I’m surprised people on here are saying it drinks "flat." I typically don’t like brown ales as a category BECAUSE most of them drink flat, but this one I find sweet and nutty on the palate with mild acidity. It’s not my first choice for beer at this price point, but it’s definitely not a bad choice. GJF (548), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 10, 2010 It’s OK. Muddy brown, thin white head. Kind of fizzy at first, cola flavors. Does smooth out to a drinkable beer, but lacking depth. BvilleBronc (24), Biglerville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 6, 2010 12oz bottle to shaker pour. Dark brown with and off-white head that disappears fairly quickly. Some lacing. Smell of breads and yeast. Taste was very rich and quite satisfying. Nice blend of grain and sweet. Could’ve stood some more hops but overall a very, very drinkable beer. I would purchase again. PhatB420 (168), Pittsfield, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 5, 2010 12oz from beer of the month club, pours a lackluster brown, definately not solid and demanding like a good brown should be. taste is flat, regular and not exciting for a brown. tiny midgets come and take any any excitement that trys to poke its head out, so watch out. potbeercollege (689), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 2, 2010 Bottle. Cloudy brown with medium white head that thins. Aroma of bread, caramel and light toastiness. Taste is typical brown ale that is geared more toward english style. Toasty malt taste with light bitterness. Medium body and carbonation. carboloader (342), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 28, 2010 Pours cloudy amber with decent white head -- lots of lacing. Aroma is grassy hops and malt. Some crisp carbonation bite with a nice relatively flat, smooth finish. Easy to drink. Seemed a bit watery to me, but this was tasted after several intense IPAs. A very drinkable brown ale better than some offerings I’ve had. A decent session brown for sure.
