Aroma is a blast of wonderful, juicy, piney-citrus hops. Jeez, there as a bunch of orange, watermelon, grapefruit, and pine in there. Palate is full-bodied, thicker than most DIPAs, a chewy but satisfying liquid. Flavor holds a bunch of hops, though the first sip seriously reminded me of the malt-balanced approach of Union Jack IPA. There is, undoubtedly, a ton of flavor here. What I find interesting is that besides the caramel malt that can be picked up on, Double Jack is essentially a fruit assault – both citrus and sweet. Great beer all in all.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 1, 2010 Poured Orange with rather thin head, perhaps a little too warm. Aroma is resin and citrus. Flavour is rather sweet for an IPA. Sweet citrus notes. Lasting bitter hop finish which redeemed it. IrishBoy (2788), Bakersfield, California, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 14, 2010 A: Dark orange in color, very nice white foam and great lacing.
S: Citrus hops, primarily grapefruit, a piney smell is also very present. Quite a bit of malt in the aroma, also.
T: Some bitterness, decent citrus characteristics, mild pine, and a lot of malty sweetness. I was hoping for a bit more hoppiness, however.
M: Medium bodied, a bit "sticky" from the malt.
D: Definitely a good drinking DIPA, but would have loved it to be more bitter and have more citrus. ratman197 (3437), Arvada, Colorado, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 5, 2010 Tap (from notes). Dark golden color with a white head. Floral hops, light on the palate, bitter and dry. Caramel malts and mildly sweet without the punch I would have expected from a double IPA. BobbyAnalog (49), California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 23, 2010 For an IPA, this beer, made by the folks at Firestone Walker, lacks that comfortable mouthfeel that its peers have. Nonetheless, the hops, clearly headbutting each other in the glass, make you understand that this is a sharp India Pale Ale, with enough bloody knuckled bite to keep your mouth sealed to the bottle. Perhaps not as memorable as other, more character driven IPAs, this Firestone Walker recipe is a classy notch in craft brewing history. Definitely something I would order again.
