In aroma, a sweet herbal malt with spiced noted, phenolics, tracles, not bad. In mout, a light candy sugar with some notes of coriander, oil, treacle, warming alcohol, very smooth. This came in a serigraphied 500 ml bottle, from 2008. Tasted Dec. 19 2009. punkska101 (143), Chambly, Quebec, Canada

This quirky Belgian-style Strong Ale seems to aim for what the Trappists do with its rather lean body, complex fruitiness and cocoa-like roasted malts, but obvious fermentation issues make it veer towards medecinal territories quite fast.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam protects the cloudy dark brown.
-Although subtle, this strange yeast character (latex, band-aid heavy phenolics) tastes like an overworked strain.
-The fruitiness goes from cherry jam to dried figs.
-Alcohol is present, but not overwhelmingly so.
-Peppery notes are found near flowers.

Fruity, flowery, and AGAIN hibiscus flower; wet dog. Wet dog returning in the flavour, fruity, estery and finally alcohol - but 10% ABV??? In all tasters’ opinion, ridiculous. Gets sweeter by the minute. Strange. I think this (?) experimental version shows the yeast can’t cope - and I wonder about infection. Big thanks to CK!
