Draft at Galaxy Hut in Alexandria. Pours a deep rich orange color. Aroma is rich Belgian spices with a nice hop aroma. Flavor is dried fruits, spices, with a touch of Belgian spices. A pretty fantastic beer, but beware, it’s 10%.

$6 / 220z bomb- First of all, I don’t like the aesthetics of particulate matter in my beer! I know this is probably a personal thing, but if you hold this up to a bright light, you can easily see the particulates floating around. It makes the beer look old and unappealing. I could forgive this, however, if it wasn’t for the intense flavors of banana and citrus flavors that do not go well together. Don’t get me wrong, I like bold flavors, but Yule Tide’s are all wrong. This one was a miss for me, but Clipper City does have some really good stuff.

22-oz bottle. Pour a cloudy deep gold color. The thick white head did not hang around very long and had minimal lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, bread dough, and orange juice. A lot of yeast in the flavor. Prune and navel orange also present. Medium spiciness. This brew is very tasty. Full of flavor. The texture is excellent for the style: Creamy but not too heavy. The beauty of this brew increases with temperature. The flavor really comes out in the upper 40’s. A pleasant aftertaste. This beer will not be hurried. It has plenty to show you between sips. Intriguing and much better than I expected. I found it on sale at the local liquor store so I thought I would try it. I am going down to buy several more bottles if they are still available. My first Clipper City brew. I hope to try more soon.

[2629-20091205] Cask. Navel orange rind aroma is bold and strong. Hazy, medium orange body with a long-lasting foamy white head. Very bold and bitter orange and tangerine flavour with some cloves and lemon and grapefruit. Medium-full body. Wow, just tons of citrus juices and a good balance and everything is wonderful.

Cloudy deep golden color with a nice and thick white head. Aroma is of malts, spices, citrus, and yeast. Flavor is of sweeter malts, spices, yeast, brown sugar, molasses, and cereal. Leaves a nice, smooth, and sweet aftertaste. I really liked this one. Good job Clipper City, good job.

Pours a one finger white head that fades slowly to a thin layer, leaving traces of lace. Almost clear amber color. Spicy nose. Strong carbonation and medium bodied. Flavor is sweet, spicy rum. Interesting triple. $6.75 for a 22oz bottle from Tully’s Beer & Wine Wells, Me.
