Commercial Description:

Big beige-brown lasting head. Opaque dark brown body. Roasty milky spicy aroma, harmonic and mild. Dry-sweet roasty grainy caramelly taste with papery notes and faintly acidic background. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dry milky roasty papery aftertaste, with a nice bitter edge at the end. Nice and highly drinkable, but lacks the clarity and character of the rakfisk beer. (0.33l bottle, Centra, Oslo.)

330 ml bottle, bought at Lørenskog Brus-shop. ABV is 4.7%. Dark brown colour, big off-white to beige head. The aroma has very moderate fruity notes, followed by notes of brown bread, hints of caramel. The flavour also has a certain fruitiness, slightly acidic, followed by notes of münchener malts, bread and caramel. Moderate but noticeable hops in the finish. Dry aftertaste. No masterpiece this one, but drinkable.

Flaske 0,33l mottatt som gave fra Rune. Takker. Mørk gyldenbrun på farge. Uklar. KI=2

330 ml bottle. Dark brown. Clear. Medium-sized off-white head that clings to the glass. Crisp floral and nutty aroma. Notes of chocolate and roasted dark malts. Lightly bitter initially, then on to the richer and sweeter malts. Nice maltiness and decent complexity for a beer this low in alcohol. Finishes slightly dry from hops.

Bottled at Skihytta, Trysil. Clear brownish amber, small head. Dryish and fruity. Light bodied with clean mouthfeel. Not much of either malt nor hop flavour. Low bittdrness. Simplistic.

0.33 L bottle from Fenaknoken, Oslo. Two finger of dense, yellow-beige head, upon a near-clear, brownish red body. Initial aroma of green apples. Then a scent of toasted, sourish bread and caramel. Taste is fairly dry, medium malty with a sourish accent. Tones of pepper, some roastedness and faint caramel. Mildly hopped, noticable in the finish though, but did not spot the amarillo. Not very filling. If not diluted, quite thin in the mouth. Dryish malty, slight bitter ending.

Bottle, 33cl, from Fenaknoken, Oslo. BB 27.04.2011. Hazy reddish brown colour. Weak aroma with hints of caramel. Quite dry taste of caramel and malt, a bit too delicate I think for a xmas beer. Good balance with a modestly bitter finish. Probably best with seasonal food (as commercial description suggests).
