Feb 13, 2004 Medium caramel brown hue with creamy tan head and very good lace. The aroma hints of heavy roasted malts, caramel, toffee, apple, noble floral hops, clove, cardamom, and zesty yeats esters. The taste is sweet malts followed by a lactic twang (almost sour). The midesection does display some hop character. Undertones were a bit fruity and spicy (fruitcake like). The finish is mildly bitter and slightly earthy. The mouthfeel could have been heavier, lively and did detected alchohol warming. A solid brew, only lacking complete roundness. I enjoyed it enough to drink again.

Jan 7, 2009 Bottle. Pours a brown body with 2 finger tan head. Sweet malty chocolate, light roasty malt flavor, caramel malts. A hint of honey and dark fruit. Eh.

Feb 23, 2007 Poured from a well-chilled 12 oz bottle. Deep brown or crimson with a bare whisper of a off-white foamy head that virtually disappeared after 10 seconds. Aroma? Not much ... a virtual whimper to the olfactory senses ... roasted barley, maybe a slight swirl of fresh pine. Thankfully, the flavor is more entertaining ... moderately robust with some dark cherry, bitter chocolate, and a bitter finish. Good. (#2724, 2/23/2007)

Dec 13, 2003 Poured a reddish copper color with a medium sized off white head and some lacing. Spicy clove and banana aroma. Rather malty, some chocolate, slightly spicy, some alcohol in the finish. I would classify this more as a weizenbock as opposed to just a regular bock.

Dec 8, 2008 On tap poured a clear dark copper with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of carmel, molasses, light fruittiness and a hint of spice. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, brown sugar and light spice with a smooth lingering moderatly bitter finish.

Dec 11, 2006 Bottle. Deep copper with a small tan head. Nose is caramel, dark roasty malts, and cocoa. Taste is a bit more bitter with caramel, roasty malts, light hops, dark chocolate and hints of coffee. Body is medium with a heavy carbonation feel. Finishes with more caramel, dark malts and light coffee. Some chocolate as well. Nice bock!

Jun 24, 2004 PepsiCola looking brew with light tan head. Malty, metalic aroma. Very flavorful but somehow thin bodied. Tastes of malt and sweet prunes. Different, indeed.

Feb 19, 2004 Little to no head on a dark cola pour - what is there is mocha colored. Faint aroma of cherries. Good, solid malty bock flavor, some ntus, raisins and brief hoppy finish. Alcohol is hidden well. Mouthfeel is just a tad thin - but overall a decent Bock.
