The color of a nice alt - red-brown with a little greenish tinge. Muted aroma. Chalky palate. Medium-light body. Dry, a bit tart, woody bittering. Extremely good session beer. Lightish body, no unpleasant aftertaste, though the bitter lasts for a bit. Quite good.

Sep 29, 2009 Draft at 5 Seasons Brewing Company. Small tan head with short retention, transparent body, no visible carbonation, one ring of lacing, and a reddish-brown hue. The aroma was malty, fruity, citrus hops and semi-sweet. and semi-sweet. The flavor was very mild for style and mimicked the aroma, but where is the bitterness?? Smooth mouthfeel and light bodied. The aroma was more of an IPA than that of a Premium Bitter/ESB. I would have given a 7 for Flavor if there had been some bitterness, but I detected none.

Sep 5, 2009 This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a transparent softly carbonated light brown colored body and a poor lacing. The weak aroma was bready. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a mellow caramel aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of hops nutty and brown malt. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

Jan 30, 2009 Appearance: Medium brown body with a smallish, frothy, off-white head. Splotchy lacing on the way down.
Smell: Spicy, softly floral scent with some earthy malt hints underneath.
Taste: Mildly flavorful taste of dry dark caramel with only a little bit of malt sweetness. Some biscuity tones. Spicy hops with a medium-low bitterness. Some more biscuity tones. Finishes dry.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium-low carbonation.
Drinkability: A decent ESB, though I prefer mine a bit more on the maltier side.

Apr 6, 2008 Pours into an interesting amber shade just like a penny, not sure if that’s a color, but it could be. This is a textbook example of the style, dried fruit glazed over a earthy malt backbone, and a satisfying bitter bite in the finish.

Mar 2, 2008 From tap at brewpub : Clear pour, copper color. Comes with a finger of white head and big sticky lacing. Some fruity notes on the taste, also abit nutty. Medium body with a creamy feel. No real aftertaste at all.

Pours a brown color with a light brown head. Aroma is molasses, caramel, roast, and some hops. Flavor is malty, nutty, roasty, and a light bitter finish.
