AirForceHops (15034) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - APR 6, 2019UPDATED: APR 6, 2019 2018 vintage. I always enjoy beers from this brewery. This particular beer eluded me for many years. For the style it is, it is quite good. Mild nutmeg, cinnamon, and subtle roast in the nose. The spice is pretty forward in the flavor and as it warms it becomes extremely bold. Displays a roasted malt backbone with a fuller body and mouthfeel. When warm the spice almost becomes too powerful. All things considered I liked it better more on the chilled side.
LilBeerDoctor (7501) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 21, 2019UPDATED: JAN 21, 2019 2012 version on cask at the brewery. Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma of banana bread, cinnamon, toasted pumpkin, chocolate malt, spices. Flavor of bourbon, vanilla, apple pie, banana bread, cinnamon, pumpkin spice, pumpkin cookie, liquor. Definitely a bit boozy and strong. But a tasty pumpkin beer. This version was not too pumpkiny, though it is aged 6 years.
