Commercial Description:
Nanny State is mild imperial ale containing more hops per barrel than any other beer ever brewed in the UK. It is an extraordinary little ale jammed full of all the brewer’s favourite hops giving it as much body and mouthy feel as possible, ensuring that low strength does not translate into reduced flavour. Nanny State, takes the low ABV hop-bomb concept to the next level and is so low in alcohol it is below the legal classification of beer and not strong enough to be subject to beer duty. We believe we have created a new beer category - The Imperial Mild - with Nanny State and How to Disappear Completely.

Bottled at Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Relatively dark appearance. Strong hoppy nose, very impressive. Very unimpressive flavor though, with a very thin mouthfeel. Nice low-alcohol attempt.

Bottle @ Beer Temple. Clear copper color, short head. Aroma of hop juice, grapefruit. Very bitter taste. It’s almost only hop juice I’m drinking, and it’s a bit thin and watery in taste. But if I had to drive, I would definitely drink 1 or 2 of these beers instead of a coke.

courtesy of Pascal Sauser - clear amber-brown colour and with a fast collapsing head; robustly hoppy aroma with notes of grapefruit and raisins, piney and resiney; thin-bodied and with a moderate carbonation; harsh bitterness, very hoppy fruity and resiney finish with some hints of toasted coffee

Dark with red glow, tiny head. Aroma of hops, yeast and fruits. Rich fruits, yeasy and some liquorice flavour, slightly bitter, somewhat watery. Extreme long hops aftertaste. Nicely done with 1,1%.

Bottle shared with dad that I got him amongst others in a box for his birthday present , consumed 22-01-10 Pours murky brown with off-white head. The aroma is streaky hops and a little fruit. Taste is lovely, crisp, dry and hoppy. Very easy drinking but of course lacking the malty backbone and oomph. A7 A4 F7 P3 Ov14

@ Beertemple. Brown colored brew. Very hoppy, malty aroma. Flavor is unbelievable hopped for the low ABV. Very intense hop bitterness. Maybe you must add some water to it :D

Bottle, bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph.
... drinking it with Signe to celebrate knowing it’s a boy...
Pours pale brownish amber with a fine, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is lovely, toasted caramel background, piney hops, apricot. Highish carbonation, light and slightly watery palate. Flavour is dry, hoppy, piney, spruce, light apricot. Extremely dry finish. Perhaps a tad too bitter to really be a session beer, but impressive for 1,1 %. I’d certainly prefer How to Disappear Completely...
