Commercial Description:
Cinderbock is a bock-style beer brewed with German smoked and munich malts. It's fermented with a classic Bavarian lager yeast and cold-conditioned for five weeks. The result is a malty, clean tasting lager laced with smoke and intrigue.

Pours a cloudy orange amber color with yeast in suspension and a huge, diminishing frothy beige head. Very appealing aroma of smoked malt , fruits and spices. Very good flavor of thick, rich, generous smoked malt with fruits and spices or something that gives a spicy feel. The body is medium with an oily texture and lively carbonation. Very well-done rauchbock, the malt is lovely.

Bottle pours reddish caramel, medium foamy off-white head, with spotty lacing.   Smoked aroma, almost like smoked meat.   No ashtray in this one, only smoked goods.   Nice malty backbone with a healthy dose of smoke.   Slightly sweet, a bit bitter up front but it smoothes out.   Good body and mouthfeel.   Finishes smokey, malty, and slightly sweet.   I think this one might be a bit better if the smoke didn’t overwhelm the bock qualities of this beer.   Still, not bad tho.   Thanks goes out to Eyedrinkale for the trade!

Hazy brown body with a small tan head. Sweet malty cand caramel aroma. Sweet malty flavor with a sour background. Everything seemed fine until the sour flavor hits you. Most likely a bad keg that’s since been removed from the tap lineup here. A shame since being retired, it’s unlikely to find it again.

Bottled: Pours a deep rusty orange with a haze and a tan, lacing head. The aroma is very interesting. Salty bacon, chewy munich malts, light esters, wood, peat, leather, nice and earthy. The flavor has a nice smokeyness, yet less so than the hardcore Schlenkerla line-up. Creamy texture with a nice amount of carbonation. Solid German malty body. Gives off a subtle caramel background. The smoke is present but not overwhelming, rather subtle and pleasant. Has a bacon-like flavor with peat, leather, tobacco, and a nice malt accented finish with a hint of alcohol and residual smokeyness. Not as hardcore as some of the original Smoked beers from the homeland Germany, but this is easily the best US Smoked effort! A very enjoyable brew.

A strange smoked bock beer. Very odd. Now I understand why the label shows a ram smoking a cigarette! From the harsh taste of the beer, the ram must be smoking Marlboro Reds.

Bottle from Cornboy; Nose of smoke, almost like a ham hock, and some caramel, hazy copper with a small beige head; sweet caramel glazed ham flavor, a lot different than the other smokeds I’ve had.

They must have put a heaping heling of smoked malts in this sucker - there is a big time smokey presence that reminds me of some of the Orkney products I've tried - I was extremely put off by it in those beers, but in this beer, after a while, the presence doesn't seem so extreme - as a bock, this is pretty tasty, and the smoked aspect, once it starts to grow on you, adds an interesting element to the beer - heavyweight certainly makes some unique beers, and this is yet another example of that.

Hammy smoke aroma with nice chipotle, cheese. Pour is a yucky light brown with a tiny head. Taste is moderatly smoky, displaying nice lager characteristics, slighty alcohol, and a delicate balance. A nice smoked but, as usual (if it’s not Aecht), I’d like to see more smoke.
