Yeasty copper; looks like rusted muddy water. Creamy dense light-tan head. Lemon soap aroma. Sweet sugary caramel. Taste is…. Good. Interesting that its one-hop gives it a 1-D character. A little bit a sweetness in my glass, a little bit a hoppin in my glass. Okay beer, but needs more complexity for me.

best offering of this series yet, a nice crispy hop showcase with little malt interference. i like amarillo as well, so the slightly soapy aroma and the sharp drying on the palate are favorable. good stuff. so far this is the only one i would consider buying again.

On tap at Blind Tiger during the Mikkeller single hop event. Not the most aggressive single hop offering.. but unique. More florals and herbal tones. Nice

On tap at the Blind Tiger for their Mikkeller single hop event. Pours a hazy ruby brown with a thin beige head. Nice citrus, and almost a bit of booze, which wasn’t present in any of the others. Milky smooth with a long earthy grapefruit and quinine bitterness.

nose is lemongrass, dryer sheets, soft, floral, lightly catty, mild lemon sugar and simple-syrup. bitterness is medium to light, texture is slightly slimy and oily, flavor is mild to moderate creamed orange and lemon, sugar, soapy, somewhat bright, lively. decent beer, more interesting than impressive.

Bottle at the Poperinge train station to see Owen off to Brewdog. Nice balance for a single hop, sharp bitter aroma, taste, and finish.

The pour is a hazy, rusty-amber color with a huge, off-white, creamy, rocky head which sticks around for quite some time and leaves scattered, sticky lace. The nose is pleasant but subtle with mostly citrus notes of orange and tangerine, light floral notes, and faint apricot and leafy notes. The flavor is much of the same with similar fruit notes (orange, tangerine, apricot), subtle floral, light rustic hints, and some faint sweet breads. The palate is medium, soft to lively, sticky, and velvety. The finish is fairly long and mostly bitter with rustic, floral, and tangerine notes. It is hard for me to imagine that this is the same recipe as the Tomahawk; this one relies on its subtleties versus to the brash nature of the Tomahawk. Only a moderate bitterness from this IPA but nice hop flavors make it quite pleasant.

Tap at Blind Tiger. Poured a rich orange with a thin white head. Hoppy but not a floral hop nose. Dry and bitter with lots of malts. Finish is lingeringly bitter and quite dry.

Bottle. Cloudy amber with frothy white head. Aroma of mild grapefruit, orange juice other citrusy fruit, medium grass, light caramel. Taste is sweeter citrus fruit esters with a floral background. Medium bitter finish that lingers.
