Pours a hazy amberish gold with a small white cap that laces well. The aroma is quite nice, floral hops meets pine and mild caramalts. Flavour starts out nicely hoppy, bitter, gets somewhat sweet in the finish with some good malt body and has a weird sweat-sock sort of quality to it that isn’t all that bad (acid from the hops I guess mixed with yeast). Not much in the way of yeasty characteristics considering it’s unfiltered. Earthy aftertaste. The malt body would be a lot nicer of a feature if it weren’t so muted. But the hops are quite nice. It’s like a beefed up version of their Elora ESB, which is not at all a bad thing. A solid brew from an often questionable brewery.

Hazy, ,dark brown amber body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Bitter floral hops flavour has a long-lasting bitter aftertaste and a hint of spruce hops. Medium body is a little bitter. Not bad, pleasant aroma.

-------
Pour copper amber, white/beige head. No carbonation apparent. Lace remains quite a while, but disappeared roughly past midway (that’s somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes)
------ orange and spruce aroma.
-------
Med body, not much else aside from bitterness.
-------
Average carbonation. Somewhat thin. A bit poor, as far as the palate is concerned. Slight dough taste. I felt oranges on the lips, but not much else. Feels a bit dry in the end.
-------
I could have done much worst than this one - considering it was a totally random pick from the LCBO. I’m not a fan of American Pale Ales, and this one won’t change anything about that. For fans of the genre - that’s it. rederic (1866), montréal, Quebec, Canada

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 18, 2010 My bottle [650ml] shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus. Pours a cloudy copper-gold with an average size diminishing bubbly white head. Aroma is fine, for Trafalgar: Light grassy hops with some fruit and sweet caramel malt. Somewhat watery flavour of caramel malt, grain and light hops and an average bitter finish. Average bodied. You know, for a Trafalgar beer this isn’t bad. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Feb 10, 2010 22oz bottle from LCBO. Pours a murky amber (unfiltered). Aroma is slightly hoppy with raisins and an odd malt aroma that’s hard to identify. Taste is a big old hit of hoppy dish soap...ack! Really, it’s like a pale ale mixed with Sunlight. The finish, while hard to determine with the soap residue still lingering, seems to be slightly bitter and bracing. What the hell is wrong with Trafalgar and why the hell do they seem to get a beer on EVERY LCBO seasonal list? This is really inferior...I’ve had better extract homebrew. | 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 4/20 | Feb 6, 2010 bottle. Poured a hazy orange colour with a big thick beige head. The aroma of oranges and oddly perfumey. Pungent flavour and mouthfeel. Awfully bitter. Woody, grapefruit citrus peel, sour flavour. I had two of these and couldn’t finish either of them. The dates were good on both. Nope, I don’t like it.
