Big nectarine and citrus hop aromatics lead the broken nail off. The hop bitterness is followed with a warm finish from the strong alcohol content.

From a 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear copper with an off white head. Aroma of grass and malt. Flavors include some sweet hay and bitter citrus. Bitter finish. Pretty tasty.

Tap. Pours clear deep golden, small off white head, good lacing. Aroma is light, oranges, melon, caramel, hint of aspirin. Flavor is medium sweet, light plus bitter, more melon and a touch of grapefruit. Medium body, soft mouthfeel. Eh.

Draft at the brewpub. Copper colored and moderately frothy. A musty maltiness dominates this for me. There’s a bit of a nectarine and wet hopped kiss, but it’s well into the background. (#6368, 10/11/2016)

This pours a clear gold with a good head of foam that shrinks slowly A mix of citrus notes in the smell; I get nectarines, oranges, grapefruit with some grass and a base of caramel malt. Same goes for the taste. The bitterness is dominated by the fruits I mentioned with a bit of grass and a mild malt sweetness. A bit of the alcohol shows up too but it isn’t intrusive. Medium body and carbonation. ..good mouthfeel. Unusual tasting and smelling DIPA but it works for me.

Poured from bottle into a snifter Appearance – The beer pours a clear darker golden amber color with a big billowy white head. The head fades very slowly over time to leave a bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the brew is rather strong of tropical fruits and citrus (orange, tangerine, and grapefruit) mixed with a rather strong showing of some slightly bready and doughy smells. Along with these aromas comes some other lighter notes of grassy smell, some melon aromas, and just a little bit of a yeasty smell. Taste – The taste begins drier then I was anticipating with a little bit of a tangerine and caramel sweetness. Upfront the dominant flavor however is that of a crackery taste that mixes nicely with a grassy and grapefruit hop right from the start. As the taste moves on the sweetness at first fades, but later resurges with flavors of more fruit of a tropical, citrus and melon nature coming on at the end. All the while, the cracker taste becomes just a hint more doughy helping match the sweet nicely. At the same time the hop flavors present upfront increase in strength and are joined by new hop tastes of a pine and herbal nature, leaving one with a lightly fruited, but overall mainly dry and slightly more dankly hopped taste to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the somewhat thinner side in nature with a carbonation level that is rather low. The lower carbonation level is prime for all the hop and lighter fruit flavors making it slightly more of a slow sipper. In my opinion a little thicker of a body would have been slightly better, but overall, due to the crackery tastes of the brew, the thinness was not all that bad when all is said. Overall- A fairly nice double with a somewhat drier flavor but blended nicely with some fruit tastes and a decent hop profile. It is very much a crisp IPA at 7.7 %, so one has to be slightly careful while drinking as it can catch up with you rather quickly. Overall, I would recommend giving this a try, depending on your preferences for an IPA, you may like this quite a bit.

22 picked up at the brewery... Enjoyed tonight out of my smaller Teku.. Polished dark golden with a beautiful white head... Great retention and lacing... Fruity hoppiness makes me think melon and peach with some citrus coming up in the back.. Big bitterness on the palate with more of a rounded tropical fruity hoppiness... Finishes surprisingly dry... I dig it.. Well done.. Like a solid West Coast DIPA. Did NOT think I would like this one as much as I did. Proper.

22oz bottle shared by Levi. Very clean IIPA. Filtered, light orange tan. Soapy head, steady. Restrained, but clean and enjoyable. Straightforward and classic.

Bottle - Pours light amber with a thin white ring of head. Nose is lightly sharp, a bit of garlic and a clean malt base. Taste is sweet and malty, a bit of honey, grassy/herbal hops and a sweet finish. Thin and medium-carbonated.

From 22oz bottle to shaker. Pour is a nice bright gold with a very thick and lingering white head. Taste is medium bodied, slightly bitter but mostly sweet. Nice touch of carbonation that finishes strong. I was very surprised at how sweet this was for a double IPA, great beer though.
