2011: Lovingly referred to by Fremonters as the B-BOMB, this bourbon barrel-aged edition of our winter ale has a warming spicy aroma and rich carmelly notes of bourbon, wood and vanilla added to dark roasty chocolatey malt flavors and subtle hopping. UPDATED: APR 6, 2024 Pours thick and very dark brown in the glass. Medium brown head. The beer is dark but there appear to be a few bubbles rising in the glass. Strong aroma of cherries and raisins. Maybe some hints of bourbon as well. The flavor is intense. Slightly sweet and malty but also some roasty nuts and there is definitely some bourbon flavor. Fairly thick in the mouth. Good for an early spring day with rain and snow.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2023 Bottle, 2020 edition, 12.8%. Color: Black, thin light brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, sweetish, Bourbon. Taste: Smooth, dense, roasted malt, Bourbon, vanilla, boozy. Over medium sweet, moderate bitter. Licorice. Chocolate notes, oak wood. Well balanced. Full body, below average carbonation. Very nice slow sipper.

Kolor: Czarny, nie przejrzysty.
Piana: Książkowa piana. Przezajebista. Wysoka, bujna, puszysta. Obłędny lacing i trwałość. 5/5
Zapach: Pachnie wyjątkowo. Śliczny przyprawowy charakter beczki po bourbonie: gałka muszkatołowa, wanilia, czarny pieprz. Do tego mnóstwo elementów utlenienia: śliweczka, wiśnia w czekoladzie, trochę miodu, toffi i karmel. Mocny, wielowymiarowy, beczkowy charakter.
Smak: Umiarkowanie słodki trunek. Beczka po bourbonie w klimacie dębiny, zbutwiałego drewna. Do tego gałka muszkatołowa, czekolada, kawa i karmel. Przyznaje, że aromat dużo bardziej złożony, jak smak. Tutaj więcej przyprawowych nutek, więcej wytrawności i rozgrzewający alko.
Dębina, gorzka czekolada i gorzkie kakao w natarciu. Trochę zabrakło balansu.
Wysycenie:
Nie od dziś wiadomo, że lubię słodkie, pełniutkie ciemne piwka. Aromat takie dokładnie zapowiadał. Wanilia, potężny bourbon, śliwka i wiśnia w czekoladzie. Do tego gałka muszkatołowa, toffi i karmel. Smak wypośrodkowany: dębina, drewno, kakao, przyprawy i kawa. Półpełny, trochę przyprawowy i leciutko palony na finiszu. Alkohol rozgrzewa.
