UPDATED: FEB 4, 2024 Bueno, bueno, ganas tenia ya de tener delante algo mínimamente consistente para catar, la belga morena fuertota de hoy se presenta con buenísimas credenciales, vamos a levantarle el velo y ver que cara muestra... Servida en cáliz, color negro con reflejos rojizos, corona de espuma beige cremosa y bien conservada. En nariz frutos negros, ciruelas maduras, higos, pasas, frutos secos, malta tostada, caramelo, ligera nota de chocolate, oporto, barrica... En boca es sedosa, primer trago entra dulce, rico en matices frutales, notas de fruta madura, malta, caramelo, frutos secos, final cálido, licoroso y ligeramente seco, el amargor es el justo y necesario para redondear, trago muy agradable, rico en matices, con interesante profundidad. Comparándola con la Kasteel Donker encuentro ésta ligeramente menos dulce, algo menos compleja a nivel aromático, y mínimamente menos densa, en cualquier caso un trago excelente.

Piana w kolorze ecru, średnio wysoka, średnio długo utrzymuje się w swoim maksymalnych gabarytach. Redukuje się do cienkiej warstwy i tak już trwa do końca degustacji. Ładnie krążkuje. Aromat ziemisty, piwniczny, lekko podpalany, karmelowy. Jest tu nuta prażona, jest skórka od chleba, delikatne akcenty ciemnych owoców. W tle ciemne słody, kawa, drożdże, przyprawowość. Smak wytrawny, suchy, delikatnie prażony, chlebowy, z lekko kwaskowym finiszem. Alkohol minimalnie rozgrzewa przełyk. Wysycenie wysokie, przeszkadza. Treściwość na poziomie co najwyżej średnim. Zdecydowanie brakuje tutaj pełni. Posmak średnio długi, karmelowy, chlebowy, palony.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2023 A holiday gift from Michael, cheers mate! 330ml bottle sampled on the 16th July 2023. Pours dark garnet with a creamy buff head. Malty aroma with sweet dried fruit notes. Thin resiny mouthfeel, slight carbonation noted in the mouth and decent lacing. Mixed malt delivers a robust malty base with Dundee cake giving spicy black pepper notes. Sweet barley sugar, dates, figs, raisins & sultanas flavours vie in the mouth. Spicy hop prickle in the aftertaste may be the black pepper element, as this may be the hop resins. Finish is smooth, robust and malty with strong alcohol burn down the throat, reminds me of warming fruit notes of fine Port.

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2023 I dig this. It leaves a vibe in the mouth similar to fannies but with less hassle and effort. No pubes just good booze.

UPDATED: MAR 11, 2023 Dunkelbraune Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Prägnant malziger, leicht getreidiger, fruchtiger Geruch. Geschmacklich malzig, getreidig, fruchtig nach Toffies und etwas reifer Banane, schwach hopfig, der Alkohol ist deutlich spürbar, überfordert aber nicht. Hohe Süße mit leichter Bitterkeit, voller Körper mit sanfter Kohlensäure.
