Slightly disappointing. mauricemay (21), leuven, Belgium

Great lacing. Aroma is malty and hoppy. Taste is like aroma. Some bitterness on the finish. Quite crisp. It definitely has the spirit of the Duvel. Good beer but nothing really special. nickd717 (1630), Palo Alto, California, USA

Golden color with a hint of green, substantial white head. Aroma of pale malt, wheat, yeast, and spices. Flavor is more of the same with some light fruits, mainly apples. Medium-light on the palate. Refreshing and drinkable. DerWeg (825), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Crystal pale golden colour, with a big head that holds for a while. Perfumed smell of hops, spicy, with cloves and coriander.light body, silky flavor and citrusy taste, with spices, clove, coriander vanilla. Just a lighter version of the usual Duvel. You don’t need it if you can try the real Duvel.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 21, 2009 250 ml bottle from Belgium Beers, Antwerp. Huge, shiny white head slowly settling upon a crystal clear, pale golden colored body. Spiced, dry malt aroma. Nice scent of Belgo-yeast; bubblegum, fruit-candy and perfume. Taste is fairly sweet and wheaty, with a kind of sourness in the backbone. Mildly spiced and very mildly hopped. Yeasty, with a noticable fruitiness underneath. Healthy body, but has a quite unattractive soapy mouthfeel. A quite good one, but the taste of it, does not live up to the promising aroma. TaxiDriver (1013), Stadland, Germany
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 9, 2009 Bottle. The aroma is light sour, a little bit alcoholic and malty, also some yeast. The white creamy medium large head has a normal duration, the body is clear and yellow. The taste is nice bitter and light sour, medium strong with a long duration. The texture is dry, with a lively carbonation and medium strong.
