Commercial Description:
Our version of this traditional British beer is a golden-colored ale that is full-bodied and refreshing, with a bold hoppy finish.
(Try a "Hoppy Marriage," a blissful blend of India Pale Ale and Firehouse ESB. One of our house favorites.)

Reddish amber with a decent head. Caramel and citrus hop aroma. Solid bitterness. More like a pale ale.

Tap at the brewpub. The body was dark amber with a lightly off white head. The aroma was grapefruit and almonds. Not much to hold onto though. The taste was light grapefruit and almond, but light. This had little to no malt backbone. Drinkable, but boring.

Draught, pours a dense dark amber with a thick tan head. Light-to-medium body, slightly dry malty flavor where hop bitterness comes through, as does the Cascade dry-hopping.

On tap the the 2008 Parkville Microbrewers Festival. Pour was hazy copper with a dirty white head. Balanced aroma with biscuit, honey, and earth. Same with the flavor. Medium/light body. Average carbonation. Bone dry. Very average.
