Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered.
A blend of 1/3 young beer and 2/3 of beer aged 2 years in large oak vats. The more important proportion of oak matured beer contributes to its fruity taste, complexity and intensity. The finish is worthy of a great wine.

From 750ml corked bottle, best before 06/09 (tasted 03/08). Pours reddish amber, not much carbonation. Very clear, taste is tart fruit, mainly cherries and apples. Brettanomyces character pronounced in the finish. I don’t get any volatile acidity (acetic acid) but do note a trace taste of solvent like flavor I’d guess to be ethyl acetate. Had this with supper and it really went well with the pasta that I made, the acidity really went well with the food. A really nice beer, I’ll get more of this to cellar.

I didn’t think I would like this one after reading descriptions involving vinegar but much to my surprise it is very enjoyable. The sour seams to come more from fruit than from acetic acid and makes the beer refreshing. I accidentally discovered that it goes well with black pepper.

Not as impressed as I hoped to be. This grand cru pours golden brown and is not as strong as typical. Not something I will likely buy again.

Reddish brown with a greyish head. Cherries, black currants, wood and rasins form the aroma. Acidity and dry flavours with notes of cherries and sour apple. It is very vineous, tart and complex. A grand experience!

Bottle 0.33 l. (Two weeks past BB) Clear deep red with fizzy head. Nose is very vinegary and sour. Flavor is like red wine gone bad. Very up front red vinegar with some faint cherries and unidentifiable funkiness. As it was past best before, I couldn’t help but think it’s gone bad even tho I knew it’s a sour ale. Not my choice, I’ve had better of this style.

Thick red/amber pour with small off-white head. Nose of cherry cider vinegar. Flavor was grannysmith apples, cherry, and vinegar. It just puckers the mouth, yet makes you reach for another drink. Very sour, yet what a nice change.

From bottle. Nice pour. Dark amber, with beautiful fluffy light brown head. Aroma of fruit, vinegar, sour, and sweet. Initially a metallicly hint in the beginning rounding out to cherry, sour, vinegar, sweet , oaky mix. Tart in the end, with longer after linger of sugar. Very interesting and bold brew. Everything seems to come together very well.

Lots of wine vinegar and fruit in the nose with mild initial metallic notes that dissipate quickly. Very soft and acidic palate with lots of Lacto and cherry notes. Tart and soft finish.
