Pours very dark brown, almost black. No head to speak of. Complex, and subtle. Slightly sticky mouth feel. Mild carbonation. Dry, lightly bitter finish. Not sure why is classified as a “Belgian” imperial stout. Maybe it uses Belgium yeast? If so it is not that prominent and I would not have picked up on it without contemplating it. Notes of black licorice and cloves? Surprisingly thin bodied. Vinous. Alcohol is well hidden. I had a hard time putting my finger on this one. Will need to try it again. All in all, another winning big beer from Weyerbacher. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Altoguacho (150) - Stuttgart, GERMANY - FEB 21, 2021
No vuelve a compactar.

solar (185) - - AUG 2, 2020
UPDATED: AUG 2, 2020 A fairly complex flavor profile. Pours dark, almost black with a tiny head that quickly dissipates. No lacing, lies flat and black. On the nose is cola, molasses, chocolate, and soy. Tastes follow the same profile with additional notes of figs, anise, vanilla, prunes, tobacco, and leather. Strong malt backbone. Sticky texture. Did not notice the Belgian yeast component, although it must be there. As it warmed, it improved as do most beers in this style. Cola, molasses and soy predominate. This flavored stout is good but nothing too special. Drinkable, enjoyable.
