COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by a Belgian beer that itself was inspired by American craft brewers and their propensity for hoppy beers, this Belgian Holiday IPA illustrates the ever-evolving brewing landscape. This beer starts with a generous portion of pilsner malt augmented by an addition of cane sugar to the kettle. Judicious amounts of Simcoe, Centennial, Sterling, Amarillo, Chinook, and Columbus hops contribute to the uniquely American citrus and pine characteristics of this international brew. The Belgian yeast strain adds fruity and earthy overtones that meld harmoniously with the complex hop bill. The Bottom Line- A medium bodied, hoppy Belgian ale hybrid: part IPA, part Belgian Trippel. A Belgian for hopheads.

Delicious IPA. Citrus, pine, a bit of grass. Medium body, smooth finish. The Belgian yeastiness give it a unique character. Free State’s best style is anything Belgian....

at brewpub This beer poured a hazy light amber color with a small beige head that fades slowly. Some light lacing is left behind. The aroma is fruity, citrus hops along with some light toffee notes. The flavor consists of orange, grapefruit, and some lightly sweet malts. Very nicely balanced for an IPA. The mouthfeel is light and slightly watery. Light to medium-bodied. A solid IPA

On tap at the brewpub. Called "Santa’s Helper". Comes a clear copper with an average off-white head. Aroma of hops, yeast and spices. Taste is similar. Some alcohol present. Nice balance. Interesting.

On tap at the brewery. Was hoping to nab a growler but alas, this is draft only. Color is crystal clear, with a nice fizzy head. Mouthwatering aroma of Belgian yeast and hops. Nicely carbonated. Medium body. Pine by way of Belgium taste. Semi sweet aftertaste, that’s not too bitter. Malt takes a back seat to yeast and hops, but that’s okay. Really well balanced for the style ... isn’t fighting itself. Really damn good.

Misty, light brown-amber. Whitish, egg creme head,. Light lemony mopwater APA aroma. Somewhat brothy, kumquat flavor, wit tones, lively hopping. Medium starchy body. Moderately grassy, hoppy finish with some woodiness. On tap, Flying Saucer, KC.

An IPA I’ll actually drink! It is yummy and doesn’t smell like cat piss!

Draft at Waldo pizza. This definitely leaned more towards the Belgian side of the house than the IPA for me. Clear copper color with a white head. Relatively light aroma. Definitely some spice from the hops but you could deifnintely taste the Belgian yeast which added some sweetness and earthy notes. Alcohol finish. Pretty nice.

Crazy fruity bubblegum aroma with citrus. Way odd. And the taste is man candy! great belgian with some bitter, but plenty of residual sugar. Hoppy, but not overly bitter. Very poundable. I’m in love.

Aromas of spice and esters mainly from yeast with some hop presence. Slightly hazy with good head retention. Loads of american hops for great citrus and pine. Paired very well with my clam chowder. Drink it, its good

On tap at brewpub. Bubbly head looks spongey as it disintegrates. Grassy citrus aroma. Cloudy apricot color. Hoppy citrus pepper flavors, in that order with juniper throughout. Yummy!
