Many small bubbles rising from the bottom, while a small white head sits atop. Smells of hops and malt and a semi-strong ale. A nice flavourful beer with definate hoppy inital taste with a very smooth aftertaste. A good all around beer, but not my favourite style. badlizard (2545), Berkeley, California, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 20, 2007 My first crack at this style. Crystal clear, medium golden body with high carbonation. Large, rocky off-white head. The head eventually settles to what looks like a patchy cream floater, leaving behind patchy ribbons of intricate lace. The aroma shows surprisingly strong floral hops, accompanied by pollen, honey, and slightly vinous white fruit. The flavor is mildly floral and hoppy, with a toasty, biscuit background, a drop of honey and a dash of cream. Smooth, medium body. Slightly astringent, peppered honey finish. Interesting brew. Very good for a lager. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA

Head settles quickly from an inch to an 8th. Aroma is pretty caramelly and a little yeast. A little dry hopped for good effect. This is a very nice brew and the best that I’ve had in this style! Good malt flavor and a fantastic finish! Boutip (2484), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 31, 2005 Bottle: Poured a clear light copper color beer with a nice clean white bubbly head with pretty good retention. Aroma of floral malt and subtle hops. Taste is very refreshing with a good malt presence, a full body (for the style) and medium bitterness at the end. Very good for the style. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 9, 2006 Thanks to doulos for this one. A very fine beer, indeed. Poured a deep golden color with a nice initial head and great lacing throughout the duration. The aroma was malty sweet (maybe some honey?) with a light maybe resinous hop presence. The flavor was similar, really good, well-balanced, and easy to drink. The mouthfeel was a little thick for the color and my expectations, but in a good way. Very pleasing and far superior to the "helles" style beers I’ve had, that it gets lumped with. aracauna (2436), Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 6, 2004 Gold is a misnomer. This is a nice copper, not gold. Cloud-like head. Slight tingly hops in the aroma, and the hops back up the smooth malt in the flavor nicely. Tingles the tongue.
