Commercial Description:
"White Knuckle Ale" is a Double India Pale Ale. That's right, twice the malt and twice the hops in one 14 barrel batch. It is named in honor of the exciting bike trail on Mt. Tam. If you are a "hophead", this one's for you; fat, chewy, resiny and pungent! Pour into a wide-mouthed glass and get ready to rip!

GABF 2009- many samples- damn good. Pours a light coppery gold with a fluffy very sticky white head. Aroma is very dank fresh hops, piney, hairy weed-like- fresh tropical fruits, amarillo simcoe with some newer dank hops- light carapils sweetness. Flavor is extremely hop forward with little malt character- pine, citrus, almost like a hairy dank nug, citrus, mango, peach, orange zest and grapefruit- it is all there- very clean and a nice clean lingering long lasting bitter finish- rockin.

22oz. Bottle: Aroma of hops, pine, citrus, grapefruit, slight tangerine, and slight caramel malt. Poured amber/orange in color with a medium-sized, creamy, dense, lightly rocky, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Slightly sparkling. Full of tiny, and a few large, particles throughout. Excellent lacing. Flavor is light to medium sweet and medium to heavily bitter. Tastes of hops, pine, citrus, light grapefruit, slight tangerine, resin, slight caramel malt, and a hint of peach. Medium body. Slick, smooth, oily texture. Average carbonation. Hop, pine, grapefruit, citrus, and resin finish is lightly to medium sweet and medium to heavily bitter. 8%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

Pours a slightly hazy (chill haze perhaps) amber/orange with off white head. Awesome hop aroma, pungent pine and citrus hops present with hints of grapefruit. Similar taste with a intense hop finish, complimented by the malty backbone. Very chewy brew. Excellent.

Sampled at Barrios’ Sausage Fest 2010! Pours an almost clear gold with minimal wispy offwhite head. Nose is fantastic punch of grapefruit and citrusy hops. Flavor is sweet bold earthy hops with a bitter biting finish. This is a very good DIPA.

courtesy of BA trade. pours orange hue, light off-white head. aroma, lots of fresh hops, citrus/grapefruit nose, light malt flavor, felt like wandering a pine forest that flavor is intense and just amazing on the palate, hints of citrus with a pungent malty palate, light hop bitterness and spices in the finish. Right mix and balance of hops and malt, finishes with a nice boozy mouthfeel.
