Commercial Description:
A singularly distinctive beer that represents our finest brewing efforts, Walker’s Reserve is an elegant dark ale featuring robust flavors of espresso, caramel and bittersweet chocolate. This wood-conditioned brew employs five specialty malts along with smooth silky oats for added complexity and flavor. Gentle English Goldings and spicy American Cascade hops together lend a perfect finish to this big, bittersweet ale. Somewhere between porter and stout, this unfiltered and bottle-conditioned beer is produced in small batches for the true connoisseur.

A very outstanding porter. Pours nearly opaque black, showing red-amber around the edges. Large tan head, creamy and rocky, lasted til the end with medium lacing. Aroma is of bitter chocolate, a little coffee, slight roastiness, and just a hint of hazelnut. Flavor is very well balanced and light on the palate, with a dry finish. I get notes of bitter chocolate and light malt sweetness mainly. A little bit of coffee. Nice dry hoppy finish with lingering roasty flavors. Did I say this was very well balanced? Very very quaffable (that was a big bottle - where’d it all go so fast?)

22 oz bottle courtesy of bvc. Pour is mostly clear deep brown ruby with nice settling building up a two inch light tan head. Pretty lacing left behind. Aroma of citrus fruit hops, roasty malt and a faint grassy tobacco aroma in the back. Fresh and unique nose - more used to the pine hop with a porter. Taste is the roast malt up front, followed quickly by orange citrus hop and moving towards the mineral grass earthiness. There is even a touch of vanilla powder sweetness. Nice integration and transition of flavors. Palate is medium to light bodied, nice carbonation and a quick clean finish. Nice refreshing porter, thanks Brandon.

Appearance is dark with small bubbly brownish/white head. My first HIGH rating. Aroma don’t really smell anything because i’m stoned right now and cant smell shit. Yea thats pretty funny dude! Ok i’m trying to be serious now. It has aroma of roast and barn. Taste is mildly roasty with some dark ripe fruits that a fly flew on. Good thing I didn’t open a fantastic beer for this rating mofo. Other than that I enjoyed it giggity giggity goo, get in sports car.

500 ml bottle at the Beerhive. Pours a pure black color with a medium white head. A strong roasted malt, light hops and milky nose. The taste is great; sweet ashy chocolate malts, milky, but aggressive sharp hops as well. Really smooth and well done. A great addition to the Utah beer scene. Awesome.

This porter is very much to style. Not overly dark and heavy like a lot of "stouty" porters are these days. Nice dark brown/ruby color with an off-white head. Nice toasted grain aroma followed by a smooth, roasted mailt/chocolate taste. Excellent malt/hop balance and a satisfying finish.

Pours a dark brown with a one finger light tan head. Nose is cardboard, diacetyl, paper, light roast, weak coffee. Not much happening in the flavor or aroma. Thin papery flavor with some diacetyl.
