Aroma and flavour are robust and roasty, with a dry and slightly sour finish. So much better than the regular Guinness it’s not funny... TinyClanger (41), West Sussex, West Sussex, England
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 17, 2005 Mmm. Roast barley aroma, rich thick tan head on an (unsurprisingly) black beer. Sweetish roasty taste with a long-lasting aftertaste that’s sour but with buttery hints. Enniskillen (1921), Salinas, California, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 12, 2004 Bottled, 8% alc, brewed in St.James Gate, Ireland. Light brown thick head, glass sticking and mostly lasting, black colour. Very wide and complex aroma, cookie, molasses, toasted wood, coffee (coffee grain, dark coffee drink), melted licorice, vinous. Roasted grain, coffee (espresso fullness), woody-oaky charachter in taste. Creamy and full mouthfeel, full body, moderate bitterness, finish lightly astringent. 0o9i (358), Reno, Nevada, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 24, 2007 Bottled. Black body with slight ruby color around the edges. Light brown head, fully lasting, prodigious amounts of lace. Aroma of dark fruits, molasses, roasted malts. It smells rich and luxurious. Body is fullish with light carbonation, lightly dry finish. Flavor is malty, but not sweet. Molasses, dark fruits, toasted or burned malts, some caramel. Hops are roasted coffee and bakers chocolate. Moderate, bitter finish. I was shocked that I was drinking a Guinness; the stuff is very good. It lacks the creamy body that defines Guinness, but it has flavor, personality, and a little bit of oomph! Smooth and enjoyable, a serious upgrade from the US Guinnesses. shrubber85 (3233), Wallhalben, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 11, 2006 Bottle (purchased on Grand Turk Island). Strong charred oak and dark molasses/raisin aroma. Pitch black with moderate head - pours like motor oil. Smokey malt and grass flavors that fades into a nice roasted flavor. Fairly strong hops finish that stays with you long after swallowing. High acidity. Livelier than the Nigerian version. The best Guinness product I’ve had. Jukkabro (3093), Tampere, Finland
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 11, 2006 (Irish version) Almost black colored, huge beige head. Fine guinness-aroma: roastiness, licorice, sweet chocolate and coffee with nice touch of fruits and mild alcohol. Medium to full bodied. Flavor is also rich with obvious alcohol, chocolate, licorice, aftertaste has medium alcohol with roastiness. Excellent aroma with slightly too strong alcohol-flavor. Maria (6476), Thisted, Denmark
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 4, 2007 Thanks to Marianne and Kenni from www.g2b.dk for this one. It’s pitch black with a nice brown and creamy head. The aroma has notes of toasted bred, roasted malt and prunes. The flavour is delightful and the mouthfeel is oily. It has notes of bitter chocolate and licorice mixed with prunes, a bit of smoke, sweetness and oak bitterness. It’s a complex and utterly delightful stout!!
