tightslice (2828) - Austin, Texas, USA - DEC 21, 2022
UPDATED: DEC 21, 2022 Bottle from Knightly Spirits in Orlando, FL. Aroma is coffee, dark chocolate, licorice, mild hit of smoke, herbal liquor. Taste is dark herbal bread, licorice, smoked malts, coffee, tangy dark chocolate. This is everything I love from a Winter dark beer / stout. Surprised this isnt rated 100.

Svesse (14202) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - FEB 9, 2020
UPDATED: FEB 9, 2020 (Bottle, vintage 2013) Dark brown colour, almost black, with creamy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of black rye bread, coffee, liquorice, juniper berries, tamarind, treacle and hints of smoke. Malty, roasted, slightly vinous taste with coffee, sweet liquorice, juniper berries, caramel, tamarind, a touch of smoke, tar and a balanced coffee bitterness in the finish. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Really tasty and quite powerful, still in excellent balance. Very nice.

NORSAND (195) - Lillestrøm, NORWAY - NOV 16, 2019
UPDATED: NOV 16, 2019 Haandbryggeriet Bestefar 2018 Batch #1205, best before date: 25.09.2021. Brewed September 2018 (?) Appearance: Deep brown colour with reddish hue. Short lived beige head. (4/5) Nose: Sweet roasted malt, coffee, caramel, Norwegian boiled brown cheese (boiled cow’s milk), freshly baked fruit cake, dried dark fruits (dates, raisins). (6/10) Taste: The arrival is malty, rich and dry. On the mid palate there is roast coffe bitterness, hops, a certain “hidden” fruitiness. In the exit Turkish sweetened coffee, nuts, a little oiliness and more chewing on freshly roasted coffee beans. The mouthfeel is medium rich to rich and quite creamy. (Mouth feel 4/5 and taste 7/10) Rather dry, well balanced Christmas ale, porter style. Its 9% ABV are very well integrated. Overall: 15/20. Total score: 3.6/5.

jinroh (4531) - ESTONIA - DEC 24, 2018
UPDATED: DEC 24, 2018 Bottle picked up from Oslo Airport, drunk at Christmas Eve. Dark hazy brown, some foam but not much. Nose is a bit herbal, malty and some spices there. Taste reveals some spices first, sweetish-malty-herbal overall feel, some smoked character there as well. Christmas and bacon-filled sturdy ale, spicy and herbal. Can't say that I like it too much but overall good at what it is.

rumore (4482) - Rimini, ITALY - OCT 12, 2018
Pours dark brown, almost black, with close to no foam. Aroma is winey, soy sauce, barrel aged. Body is fairly dense with delicate carbonation. Taste is moderately sweet, with some bitterness and good sourness. Some umami, according to my Japanese friends, who say it reminds the soy sauce they use for breakfast. Finish is long and bitter/sour.

nuplastikk (9841) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - APR 7, 2018
16.9oz bottle. Thin beige head. Deep black-brown body. Roast, rye, peat smoke...a lot going on and without any ingredient list I am pretty much just going off my palate. Really great mouthfeel like the majority of Haandbryggeriet beers. Sweet and spicy, but still in the beer realm, not filled with juvenile adjuncts, so a big win in my book. Like someone else said, a hell of a Christmas beer. Has some reminiscence to Anchor OSA but takes it to the next level. Solid.

GregMooreNH (9255) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 15, 2018
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2018 Pours hazy mahogany with one finger, tan head. Aroma is smoke and dried fruit. Taste is caramel and plum, moving to a strong smoke and some nuttiness. Finish is smooth smoke. A very tasty ale.

Et ganske godt øl, passer til det meste av mat. Også behagelig som tørstedrikk. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
