Pours a dark reddish-brown with a finger of creamy, beige head that leaves behind patchy lace. The nose is of nuts, burnt caramel, cocoa and a touch of spicy hops. Medium-bodied and almost creamy with moderate carbonation and a relatively bitter-hopped finish for the style. Nutty, roasted chocolate and caramel malt notes with a fairly spicy-hopped finish. This is a pretty solid rendition of an American brown. Thanks again for the bottle, Eric!

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 8, 2010 Very impressed with this brew. I have come to like Lost Coast quite a bit. Pour is deep brown with a thin brownish head. Aroma of chocolate, tons of malts, caramel, and nuts. Taste is malty, chocolate malts, caramelly and very smooth. Overall, a pretty good beer. Smooth and a nice winter beer. Overml01 (92), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Feb 13, 2010 Bottle tasting at work. Not a bad winter seasonal. My employee gives it his "kudos" as well. ;-)
Only thing that noticably detracted from the style was that it was a bit thin. A little more body and I could have given it a 3.4-3.5. Great head retention and even some respectable lacing despite it being so thin.
Nice malted taste with slightly bitter finish. Not bad... I’d like to have it again next year! Teege (275), Orlando, Florida, USA

Good roasty malt nose with some notes of chestnut. Flavor is mild and not too complex but decent and very drinkable. Slightly sweet and woody. Not half bad. Wintry but also sessionable. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 24, 2010 Pours from the 12 oz bottle a deep copper-amber color with a big bubbly, fluffy, tan head. Aroma has a nice apple and cherry sweetness, mild chocolate, mild toasted malt and a smooth caramel sweetness that seems to smooth over all the aromas. Flavor has a really smooth sweetness to it, great maltiness that is balanced with notes of caramel, cherry, nice toasted note, light chocolate and a smooth alcohol warming ending. Body is moderate and the texture is slightly dry from the alcohol present with moderate carbonation and low lacing left on the glass. Flavors are very sweet but well balanced. Good brew.
