Commercial Description:
An authentic, German-style Bock, celebrating the coming of spring. This strong, deeply flavored lager has been aged to create a smooth, malty taste with a hint of sweetness. A light addition of German hops balances the malt flavor. Saint Arnold Spring Bock is best consumed at 40° Fahrenheit.

Amber colored. Toastiness and maltiness in the aroma of the beer. Sweet with some carmel in the taste. Some hops but not too much. Decent head.

Bottle brewed 1/20/2009, just released.. Pours with a sparse, frothy, khaki head over a clear bronze body. Minimal lace, passable retention. Rotten nutty aroma with a lot of fruits behind it, toasted grain and soggy toast as well. A bit of light toffee too. Taste is toffee and grainy, with an actually pleasant alcoholic bite to it. Very cereal like, with fruity notes left on the palate by the alcohol. Water like mouthfeel, thinnish, a bit over carbonated and alcohol evident.

Amber honey in color. Light roasted aroma. Sweet semi metallic flavor which follows with a bitter hoppy aftertaste. Pours kinda thick with low carbonation. Overall it’s not too bad but nothing out of the ordinary.

Pours a very clear amber red color with a small white head. Aroma is sweet and of caramel. The flavor is of malt, caramel, and is a little bit sweet and spicy. 12 oz. bottle.

Bottle. Pours a nice copper color with a two finger frothy tan head. Aroma is malt, caramel, and hops. Taste is sweet and sticky up front filled with malt and caramel but finishing nicely with the crisp flavor of the hops. This beer really tastes like it smells it’s quite enjoyable.

12 oz. bottle. Poured into my shaker. Pours a nice foamy head that dissipates quickly. Nose is sweet bread and fruitcake. Flavor is sweet on the tongue and finishes with sweet malts. Mouthfeel is medium, robust enough to put Shiner Bock to shame. Nice Bock Saint Arnold!

Very bocky flavor, like a doppelbock. Assertive! A decent brew but not really my thing. At least it wasn’t too fizzy.
