12 oz. bottle courtesy of my Summer Secret Santa. Pours black with a thin tan head that disappeared after the first two sips and left no lace. Surprisingly light aroma of chocolate and very light roast. The flavor is mild also with chocolate, very light roast, and a bit of tobacco. No bitterness to speak of at the finish. Light bodied for a porter with a thin mouthfeel. I love the label for this beer, but "robust" is not a word I would use to describe this porter. "Timid" is the word I would choose.

Mar 20, 2010 Pours very dark with a thin creamy head. Smells of cocoa, coffee, chocolate, and roasted coffee. Tastes of bitter hops, but mostly bland. Small notes of some chocolate and roasted coffee. Finish is rather short.

Mar 6, 2010 Generous head is tan and creamy on top of a very carbonated dark brown body. Smell is somewhat subdued. Flavor is heavy on bittersweet chocolate, some roasted flavor, with a bit of sugariness. ends very smooth and silky, more chocolate, but little to balance, and the body is on the light side. As it warms, the finish improves substantially.

Mar 3, 2010 On draught in a mug. Bought as "Thirsty Dog Porter." Aroma has malt, chocolate, and coffee. Taste mirrors the aroma very nicely...coffee and chocolate. Roasted finish. A good effort at a porter.

Jan 23, 2010 Bottle thanks to beerbill. Pours with a dark brown body and on off-white head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, and a bit vinous. Taste is coffee, coffee grounds, with a nice richness and some chocolate. A well made porter. Lively carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel.

Jan 23, 2010 12 oz bottle. Dark brown pour with a nice medium tan head. Aroma of faint hops and roasted malt. Great metium bodied taste of roasted malt, burnt almonds and faint floral hops with some chocolate in the finish. Great porter.

This one pours a deep brown and amber color. A hair lighter than I am used to seeing in a porter. The head is small and foamy and disappears too quickly. The nose is roasty highlighting caramel, a touch of coffee, and a bit of earthiness. Is this one really robust? My palate says it is a bit more robust than the average porter. A little more roasted malt with notes of flint, a hint of coffee, caramel, and molasses. The body is on the lighter side with lower carbonation. The beauty in this brew lies in it’s sessionability. I could happily sit and have a few of these just about any time of year. I wouldn’t say it’s worth seeking out, but it is certainly worth drinking if you happen upon it.

Jan 9, 2010 A nice aroma, great dark brown appearance. Flavor is robust. Roasts, some malt, a good deal of hops; not too sweet. Quite tasty.
