Split the bottle with a roommate towards the end of a small sampling session. Definitely blithering idiots by the end of that. This is a very nice barleywine, I really am liking this style. good job weyerebacher

Mar 16, 2010 On Draft at Chan’s Wine World PCB nice red/brown in color. Has a great nose of malts and fruits almost cherry or plum like. Great tasting with an expected alcohol level of a barley wine style.

Mar 15, 2010 The first pour of this was so hazy it looked awful, the next one wasn’t so bad, weird. Pours with a nice red color and a small head. The aroma is anise with a nice malty roastiness, very earthy and woody tones dominate with some spicy hoppiness in the background. The flavor is nicely fruity with some candy sweetness and some earthy hops, some licorice and a nice booziness shine through. Warming!

Mar 14, 2010 12 oz. bottle from Total Wine in Chesapeake, VA. Pours muddy brownish-orange with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts and brown sugar. Flavor is not too sweet but is certainly more malty than hoppy. There is a noticeable fruity presence detected as well. Slight alcohol warming. Overall, a pretty good barleywine.

Mar 10, 2010 Nose of dates, figs, brown suger and raisins. Aroma is the strong suit of this beer. Not much in the way of appearance. Low carbonation; ruby pour; no lacing. Palate leaves much to be desired. But taste is nice; similar to the nose. Not a strong alcohol taste for 11% abv. Mellow finish.

Mar 4, 2010 Smells like dried fruits and a bit of bubble gum.
Short lasting head.Tasted is somewhat sweet with a touch of bitterness.
Alcohol is very present.Very dry finish probably because of the carbonation.
Overall not bad,but i dont think i would want to let it warm up too much.
There is something about the Bubble gum that bugs me.

Feb 23, 2010 Bottle thanks to a trade with Cletus. Cloudy dark brown pour with a medium size foamy tan head. Aroma is raisins, dark caramel, cinnamon sticks, dark fruits. Flavor is instantly a pleasant caramel, balanced with raisins, figs, cinnamon. Syrupy mouthfeel with a nice burn on the back end. A fine barley wine! Thanks again, Cletus!

Feb 23, 2010 Bottle thanks to angrypirate06. Pours with a nice off-white head that lasts over a murky burgandy colored body. Some particles. Aroma of currants, raisins, curaco, zesty, toffee, Graham crackers and honey. Flavor is sticky, dark fruits, boozy, orange ring. Alcoholic. Creamy carb. Big.

Feb 16, 2010 Bottle. 12 oz. Pours ruby amber with a similarly colored, slightly lighter frothy head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, barley, toasted malt, and vanilla. Full, smooth, sweet body with a nice warm, slightly boozy finish. Great barley wine.
