Aroma is coffee, roast, and nuts. Has a good carbonation. The flavor is all coffe. Has a slick texture. A medium body. A good finish and a pleasing aftertaste. This truely is coffee beer. It is pretty good though. Aurelius (2701), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 13, 2010 Nice, nutty, roast/coffee aroma. Dark clear brown, but you can see through. Coffee, bitter chocolate, sweetish. Medium to medium light body. Really good and balanced, but not a huge amount of nuance. Tap, Flying Saucer, KC. loveamberbock (18), Jefferson City, Missouri, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 12, 2010 pours dark brown, minimal head, tastes of coffee and chocolate, not very high abv nose, smells or roast (typical schlafly), smooth taste and consistent lace, not much of a stout but decent try! | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Feb 26, 2010 Pours dark but not opaque, rich tan head that fades as it sits. Aroma is immediately of spent brewed coffee grains, some chocolate notes come through in the nose as well. Palate is light for this style however the coffee is the dominate flavor in this beer as if i were drinking freshly roasted coffee beans. There is definitely a candied chocolate note in the finish hiding behind the coffee bitterness. Overall a fun coffee stout. curly (1071), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 23, 2010 Pours solid black with a creamy tan head. Aroma is rich roasted coffee and vanilla, also sweet chocolate. Taste is a good balance of bitter coffee bean and vanilla/chocolate sweetness. Moderate bitter finish. Good beer especially for breakfast. Smooth creamy texture, milky and rich. JaBier (1518), Capital City, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 20, 2009 Bottle sample courtesy of Dogbrick. Clear brown pour with a big tan head. Caramel aroma with some subtle coffee. Chocolate and cream flavor with a sweet, yet dry coffee finish. Man, if the nose matched the flavor this would be fantastic. Still pretty good though. shawnm213 (1129), South Bend, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 18, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of coffee, nuts, smoke, and earth.
Flavor is graham cracker, Toast vanilla, coffee. Tasty. I liked this. Or maybe its just been a long week. Silky smooth. Creamy. Oatmeal really gives this a nice body and feel to it. Some nice roasted charachter. Would drink again. bblack99 (249), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Deep brown/black pour with a rich brown head. Smells strongly of fresh-brewed coffee and tastes as expected with a bitter finish that battles the overall smoothness of the oatmeal stout base.
