Commercial Description:
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Nice medium-hued, golden honey color, with a slight hint of amber. Big, three-fingered, head of fluffy white foam. Retention is very good and lacing is clumpy and sticky. Smell is pure hops. Big citrus hops mix it up with a more mild pine presence. Big notes of grapefruit. Slight hint of caramel malt sweetness. Hop City, we have arrived. Big presence of grapefruit and pine, alike. Citrus hops abound. Big bitter bite, especially in the aftertaste. Sweet malty presence attempts to come through, on the mid-pallette, but gets pummeled back down. Smooth and easy to drink, with a slight sharp edge to it. As long as you aren’t afraid of hops, this is a tasty, easy to drink, beer.

Pours golden with nice dense white head. Pine hope aroma, hint of citrus. Green hop flavor, low malt profile. Dry but a pretty clean finish.

Bottle. Poured dark amber with a thin off white head. Aroma was full of hops, mainly citrus and piney. Flavor had very similar notes to that of the aroma with the citrus being the most present.

Hazy amber pour with a white head that disappears yet clings to the sides of the glass. Scents of hops galore greet the nose compounded with a bountiful floral bouquet. Smooth balanced medium mouthfeel that treats you to plenty hop flavor coupled with a sweet citrus up front. The finish is strong and lasts throughout your mouth leaving you with an almost chewy yet chalky taste.

Wow. A welcome hoppy assault on the taste buds. Beautiful gold color with a big head. Very bitter with a sweet aftertaste. Goes down quite smoothly considering it is an imperial IPA. Great both by bottle and on tap.

I’ve had this beer both on tap and in the bottle. Words can’t describe how much I love this beer. This review describes it on tap. Average white head atop a light orange translucent body. The aroma is hoppy, floral, and magnificent. It dominates the palate afterwards like a fond pervasive memory on your tongue. Even the lacing is nice. It’s like liquid poetry.

Bottle. Wonderful aroma. May this is what all hop lovers should look for. This is a great sipping beer but more then one at a time is a little too much for a malt lover. I think the description says it all. Highly recommended.

Poured an amber body with a white head that faded to decent lacing. Aroma is, as expected, very hoppy with maybe a hint of cinnamon or citrus in the background. Taste is very hoppy. Starts off with a mild sweetness and zing from the carbonation that gives way to the full blown hops. Lingering bitterness that is slightly drying but wonderful. Palate is very silky and the carbonation gives a nice zing. Overall a very good beer if you like the hops.
