Commercial Description:
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Bought a sixer from Chuck’s Liquor in Bowling Green. Pours a clear orange color, with almost no head. Citrus and earthy aroma. Totally destroys the tastebuds...just like I like them. Great beer.

I am not a big IPA fan, but this was real good stuff. Bought a bottle at Crown’s. Light amber colored beer with a minimal off white head formation when poured into pint glass. The aroma is powerful, a pleasant blend of fruits/pine/spruce/floral hops. Tastes really bitter, strong presence of fruits and bitter/floral hops. Goes down a bit heavy, smooth mouth feel. I just found a new favorite IPA.

On tap at Flatbread. Had with pizza. Poured gold with a medium head. Taste is very strong in the hops department, with some citrus and pine. A very delish ipa!

Amber colour, medium dirty white head, lacing. Hops a plenty, attacks your nostrils, resin, grapefruit, mango, citric, perfume, malt backbone, lovely. F: big big bite, huge bitterness up front, the notes are the same as in the nose, accompanied but both an understated malt backbone and alcohol prescence, just lovely how the hops are given the opportunity to dominate. M: crisp amd fresh yet smooth. T: i start to doubt wheter Stone is able to release a beer that’s not extraordinary!

Bottle. Pours a deep rich copper. Aroma is all citrus hops! Head and carbonation are next to nil. This is a fantastic IPA, taste is hop strong but not with a stringent hop bight. This is a nice beer.

2007: Oh boy, I may have a new favorite.... Clear light golden color with a formidable head. NICE lace! Actually quite clear, considering. Excellent fragrant hop smell. The hops are sweet, not bitter. The malt is biscuity but very subtle. The hops are so fragrant; strong, but not overpowering. Wonderful hop flavor. They are piney and sweet, with a slightly bitter ending. It’s a serious hop presence, with only mild dry malt. but the hops are so delicious and perfect. Amazing balance. Thick and creamy, nice and well-bodied. Substantial. I can drink it all night long. Remarkably drinkable for such a hoppy IPA. So very enjoyable.

12 oz bottle froma an English pint. Pours a light transparent amber with a 3 finger white head. Leaves slight lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops with a decent grapefruit citrus character. Taste is hoppy and citrusy, with a pine note in the aftertaste. IT was not "bracingly bitter" as advertised. Somewhat disconcerting was a boozy alcohol note in the aftertaste as well. Its a really good IPA (or imperial IPA). If the alcohol had been disguised a little better, I would have been much happier.

Pours hazy amber with a thickfoamy head. Strong hop aroma is very complex the way it assaults the nose. The hop assault continues as it dominates my palate. About mid palate there is a molty almost cookie like flavour which is promptly crushed by hops. This is an amazing IPA!
