COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With clear notes of espresso, dark chocolate and a hint of authentic Icelandic coffee, this Porter is dark and rich, offering a medium body that is robust, yet smooth on the palate and easy to drink. There’s no need to be afraid of the dark anymore.

UPDATED: APR 13, 2024 How: bottle from pint. Cold room temp. BB:05/SEP/2025 Head: two fingers, off white. Colour: almost black Aroma: nuts, coffee, chocolate, caramel, dark fruits. Taste: thin to medium body, soft to average carbonation. Taste follows aroma. Medium to long aftertaste like initial taste. A bit thin, but otherwise really nice porter.

UPDATED: MAR 16, 2024 12 oz. can, 6.0% ABV, Packaged on: 03NOV23 AROMA: Sweet with strong scents of brown sugar and toasted malt, which is then followed by hints of chocolate and coffee. The aroma is very enticing! APPEARANCE: Pours an opaque black with a very tall, dirty-tan head that dissipates very slowly with excellent lacing. In a clear, Pilsner glass it looks like all proper Porters should, but so rarely do. TASTE: Moderately sweet with flavors of dark chocolate, coffee, toasted malt, and caramel. The finish is slightly sweet with the caramel and coffee being the last flavors to fade away. There is also a bit of sharpness/tinge throughout that I find quite pleasing as it helps to balance the sweetness. MOUTHFEEL: Full-bodied with a somewhat smooth texture that has just a touch of stickiness at the end. Carbonation seems average. OVERALL: About the only 'gripe' I can come up with is that, for a Porter, I find it to be a little on the sweet side. But I ain't complaining, because it's one delicious beer with great visual and odoriferous qualities! I will definitely be buying this on a regular basis.

bondar22 (64) - Kyiv, UKRAINE - JAN 26, 2024
UPDATED: JAN 26, 2024 The beer has a very strong and pleasant aroma, you can clearly feel roasted malt with strong, almost black roasted coffee. The color is pleasant, caramel-chocolate. The taste is clearly expressed, cognac-wine, with a very pleasant malt taste, and with a brutal Scandinavian note in the form of a sharp-bitter, but pleasant finale.

tmoreau (9888) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - AUG 29, 2023
UPDATED: AUG 29, 2023 On tap while dining on the alfresco deck of the Brickhouse Food & Drink in White Bear Lake, MN. as a 12 oz. serving to a tulip, showing a black/brown hue with some amber highlighting, tan froth to a persistent ring, light film, and spray-like cling to the lacing. The nose was malty, roasted, cocoa, moderate espresso, mild caramel sweetness, and slight toffee. Medium bodied, the taste was as the aroma notes, maybe a little less expressive, but successfully carbonated, with roasted & earthy astringency, and a bit of dryness to the finish that modestly lingered. Nicely complemented the cuisine.

tfontana (5554) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - AUG 6, 2023
UPDATED: AUG 6, 2023 Can (born 5/25/22, drink by 7/25/23) pour shared by Steve. It's a virtually opaque dark brown with finger-width beige head with good retention. Aroma is toasted malt--a bit earthy/twiggy--minerals, toffee and a bit of coffee. Taste is earthy roasted malt, toffee, roasted coffee a bit on the charred side. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium, smooth, finish is quite bitter. Overall, aroma shows promise but taste if overly roasted, charred, bitter.
