UPDATED: APR 8, 2021 This beauty has been eyeing me up for months. Every time I walked past the fridge, she would whisper “take me I’m yours”. How have I resisted for so long? Tonight I caved in. A tick is a tick after all. So this angel fell into my arms for the princely sum of 16 Ringgits. Cheap by any standards in this part of the world, but I can picture the reaction in a Yorkshire pub ... I’ll be ‘avin thee lad, three quid for a bottle of whippets piss!! That just about sums it up really. Maybe I’m being unkind. I’ve had worse, much worse than this, but it brought back many unpleasant memories. 100% single malt? What’s that all about ? I feel really deflated. Remember the graffiti on the back of 1980’s toilet doors? ... “There I sat broken hearted, paid my penny but only farted”. That’s how it feels. My beer has let me down. I’d love to say that there was “nice bitterness” but I can’t even write that. I’d put it back in the fridge, but then people would think I was weird. I need a pint of Stormaktsporter to take the taste away but I’d settle for disinfectant. It’s ok ... Trump said it was fine. Kills all known germs, bad tastes and all that. What could possibly go wrong?

jjsint (7720) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JUL 3, 2019
UPDATED: JUL 4, 2019 Bottle from the National Brewery Centre in Burton. Dark gold, clear with an uneven film of white head. Malty aroma, with some glue, whisky and a bit of metal. Sweet taste, not bad at first but becomes quite medicinal nearer the long finish. Sickly aftertaste. Barely passable.

Bottled in Myanmar. Pours a pale straw gold. Biscuity malt, grain, straw, yeast notes. Boscuity malt, sweet malt, mild honey flavours. This was pretty average.

Goldish colour. No head. Small bubbles but looks kinda flat. Some gluey phenols on this one. Bland taste, again quite phenolic in the gluey/plasticy sense. Pretty underwhelming, even for industrial swill.
