Moravius (3857) - Berlin, GERMANY - JAN 20, 2024

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2023 Respectable dark ale, versatile and pleasant. On the sweeter side, pairs wonderfully with hearty dishes. The most beautiful head, so thick and gorgeous. Dark brown color. Cloudy, so dense and full of particles as to come off as murky. Intense aromas of malt, but the fresh, good kind. Sweet notes, of honey, bread, dried fruits, raisins. Little carbonation, feels somewhat flat. Mild, round, full-bodied, though malt dominates. Yeasty and malty, this truly comes off as liquid bread. Blue Chimay comes to mind. Excellent bitterness, soothing and rich. Notes of coffee beans and dark chocolate. Alcohol unnoticable, as its rich flavors veil the high percentage scarily well. All in all a respectable dark ale. A bit lacking in personality, perhaps? There’s nothing that really sets this beer apart from the hundreds of other dark ales. Would also have benefitted from a bit more carbonation, a refreshing sensation. Pairs wonderfully with any meat-based, hearty dish, be it pasta bolognese, beef goulash or pork neck.

Yorker (5749) - Nowhere in particular, DENMARK - MAY 21, 2023
UPDATED: MAY 21, 2023 33 cl bottle @ home. Pours cloudy amber with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour are dried fruit, yeast, alcohol, and spices - with a warming finish.

jybi (2285) - Nouméa, NEW CALEDONIA - DEC 29, 2022

edward78 (1317) - West Wickham, Kent, ENGLAND - NOV 26, 2022
UPDATED: NOV 26, 2022 Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a murky mahogany colour with a medium sized thick foamy off-white head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, caramel, toffee and a little candied sugar. Taste has more dry dark fruits, caramel, burnt brown bread, some leathery and tobacco notes, some light roasty notes on a light bitter and also lightly sweet finish. Nicely balanced beer. Medium body, average carbonation and slightly oily mouthfeel. Good Beer.

Prima biertje verder.

caribou43 (3069) - SWITZERLAND - FEB 24, 2021
UPDATED: FEB 24, 2021 Thanks Luigi for this bottle coming from le Belge, Leman Center, Crissier. Opening this heavy bottle, at Bonfol, during the last Sunday, sunny and too hot for the season. This beer is not bad, smooth and really malty, bready and a bit fruity, you got a really pleasant sensation of malt, the contrary of the ipa fashion, discreet note of hop at the final. The body is black and brown, troubled, smooth carbonation.
