Commercial Description:
You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

Bottle->snifter: pours a small, diminishing, dark brown head that exhibits good lacing atop a ruby body. Aroma of caramel and coffee. The body is light, texture creamy, showing no carbonation and having a bitter finish. The flavor’s duration is average, lightly sweet, acidic, and bitter, with some sour milk characteristics. A truly fine beer.

Poured super opaque...not a lot of head...but what I would expect from an Imp Stout. I was a little surprised at the aroma....not that it was bad, but not as much as I would expect. This is a really well balanced beer. I probably had it at about 55 degrees and nothing was crazily overwhelming. Just a a really good roasty taste...I had the pre conceived notion that it might SCREAM coffee, but was pleasantly surprised. Very long finish and I feel the coffee turns a little nutty at the end. It’s got a great reputation and it’s deserved.

Bottle tasting at work. I had the sublime pleasure of tasting BS and KBS right next to each other... what a treat! The breakfast Stout has a wonderful flavor profile with a palate that’s just a touch too thin. The head is a wnderful amber brown with amazing retention and the aroma fills the nose with roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and caramel. An amazing product that was just umlucky enough to go up against its big brother today. BS is a MUST try, but wait til you get ahold of KBS!

Pours black with a thin brown head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, and slight alcohol. Flavor hits right away with a very strong coffee flavor that slowly dissapates into chocolate and eventually moves to a mix of coffee and roasted malts. I’m not a huge fan of coffee, but this beer is a nice blend of chocolate and coffee flavors.

Bottle (35 cl) from Systembolaget. Black with brief beige head. Nice coffee dominated roasted aroma, with some dark chocolate, green pepper, salmiak & gun powder. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Well balanced, long and dry bittter finish. A good coffee stout.

12oz bottle into a snifter glass. Pours jet black with a small tan head. Smells of choco and patent malts with a blend of coffee bean. Nice mouthfeel, medium body, a little light on the carbonation. Rich choco malts with a bitter coffee finish. Beautiful stout.

12oz bottle. Smell of Intense dark roasted, slightly bitter, coffee aroma. Dark baker’s chocolate. A slight milky creaminess in the nose.So Creamy, I smelled it every sip I took. Black pour. No highlights. Dark tan head was thick and creamy, but dissipated fairly quickly. Good lacing. A lot of the flavors from the nose return in the flavor. Coffee, cocoa, a little milky sweetness. Full bodied and creamy. Moderate carbonation. Slight astringency on sides of mouth. Some alcohol warmth in back of the mouth. One of my top Stouts.....Only if Young’s Oatmeal Stout was still available.
